I'm very much into roleplaying when I play a character, but every now and then the need to bash something with a large club builds up inside of me. I tend to adapt to the group I'm playing with, I'll start out roleplaying heavily, but if the group I'm with isn't into that I can turn it off and have fun beating things with a stick. But like I mentioned before, I prefer roleplaying, I have Desert Combat for when I want to hack and slash no questions asked. I prefer campaigns to one shot games, as they not only let me develop a character better, but I find that long term plots give me more satisfaction. The character interaction that evolves between players over a long campaing is also much more rewarding.
I don't have a stereotype character template that I always play. I enjoy playing all types of characters, from common things like a gnomish illusionist or an elven ranger, to more outlandish (some would say interesting) characters, like an orphaned half-orc who was raised by a church as a cleric... hmm maybe I sould try a dwarven druid next (just kidding).
DM:
I'm an old hand at DM'ing in the PnP game. I have only had one attempt at DM'ing on NWN, it was back when the game first came out and I worked very hard for a couple of months making a module from scratch. I ran it for some friends of mine and we had fun, but I learned that I really needed to familiarize myself with the DM client before I tried that with people I don't know. I've been having too much fun playing to do that, so no DM'ing for me ... for now.
