My career is in live theatre, so I tend to enjoy heavy RP'ing, although a good hack-n-slash can be a welcome change. I prefer small groups from 5-7 players ideally. I started NWN with a half-elf ranger, so I'm partial to them. But I've since created some of my favorite characters; a fighter, an assassin and a barbarian. As a DM, I prefer a thoughtful, heavy RP game with a little action thrown in for good measure.
