Jammy's Details [Statistics Help]

I got into NWN as a computer gamer, rather than as a Roleplayer as many people seem to. A year ago I had never played a roleplaying game, or really even know what one was. The very excellant KotOR changed all that; although I was wary of the genre, as a StarWars fan I was tempted by the glowing reviews and bought the game. It was amazing! Having thoroughly enjoyed myself, I looked to Bioware to provide me with more roleplaying goodness, and NWN seemed the next logical step. My Forgotten Realms knowledge is therefore non-existent, though the more I play, the more I pick up. I personally found the single player game and expansions put too much emphasis on combat (damn those impossible final battles!) and I am looking forward to playing games more geared towards roleplaying with real people :D

07/09/04 Thought I'd update a bit. I have now played quite a few games on NWC and have tried many different styles from complete hack-n-slash to 100% roleplay games, and I have better discovered where my tastes lie: I would say I prefer games which have a nice lot of roleplay, especially character development and enjoyable social interaction between the party, but also that have some combat as well, to offer a bit of a break, alter the pace, and ultimately force the party to rely on one another for survival.

I would also like to point out that due to me trying widely varying types of games, I don't feel the stats below are a particularly good reflection of my preferred style of play. Obviously, in a module focused on combat, in which everyone is saying 'hey, anybody want this +1 longsword I found!?' it would have been rediculous to go all-out roleplay, so the participants of that game are going to vote that i focused on combat or completing the module, rather than roleplay. This isn't to say though, that that's all I can do! I do, of course, adjust my style of play to the module. You may also notice that one, miserable person came along and voted me for ALL the bad things, like dungeon clairvoyance, rudeness etc ... and said that they would never play with me again. Well, they can suit themselves (and it seems that they did) but I would like to defend myself against such accusations! - It was, I think, during a so-called 'humorous' game (incidentally the most uninteresting I have yet played) which was absolute chaos. I didn't like how it was going at all, but adjusted my role-playing to fit in... And this is the result: A permanant blemish on my record! *sobs* But I do NOT speak out of character or metagame, or anything like that, and please don't let that put you off :D

I can only hope that over time, as I play with many other people, that my stats will slowly change into a reliable indication of who I am and what kind of game I enjoy the most...
