I learned much since i first started playing games through NWC, and now i dont want to play any other way :)
I learned to DM by the master himself: Sparky1479 (may god have mercy on his soul - lol)
I have never really done PnP Roleplaying, but instead started with Eye of the Beholder 1 back in 1992/1993 - which evolved into a longer playthrough of games like: Kyrandia, Prince of Persia, Hero's Quest, Quest for Glory, Eye of the Beholder 1 - 3, Icewind Dale, Daggerfall, and even Diablo 1 and 2 and a number of other RPG i no longer can remember :)
I spread alot within games, from Counterstrike, Day of defeat, to Quake 3 Fortress, to Homeworld, Civilization 3, Starcraft, Warcraft, System Shock, Neverwinter Nights, Planetarion, and the list goes on :) (played computer games since 1982)
I like to play a large variaty of characters - of different species, genders, and classes. For the the challenge lays in understanding all aspects of all races playeble... Most of my characters are usually strong builds, aimed at combat - while the RPing more comes out as part of theyre person, then theyre skills or feats.
As DM - i like to try let the players have fun, be fair, give equal amount of combat, but also room for RPing.. adding life to the NPCs - both those Quest-critical, aswell as the little girl just playing in the neighbour hood. I belive both as player, and when i DM that a player should feel a steady increase in difficulty aswell as in the items he need to handle the increasing difficulty. I dont like powergaming, or just giving superitems away, but on other hand, i dont like sending players into fights against creatures they cant beat (unless its part of the plot/story). - I am also a strong beliver that all players should be treated equally - that both as player, and as DM - and none should be favored more then others. I like as player to go way outside the box, within what would seem reasonable as actions for my character. A rogue slitting throats of the guards, climbing a fence to see whats above.. a Druid sending her Companion to guard/scout.. and so on :)
Things i do not like: DMs cornering ppl, treating ppl differently, players running in a RPing enviroment.
