I'm just learning (as of 05/05) DMing at the hands of a couple very expierenced DMs, nand am doing so in a sort of "on-the-job" training enviroment.
As a Player . . . I love the role-playing aspect of all RPGs. I have played D&D since it was in the little white pamplets (yes, I am that old). I enjoy puns, and have a sense of humor about the game. I probably have as much fun creating a character as I do playing (for a PBeM game I intended on playing in, I once did a 25 page character sheet, complete with pictures of the character's home castle and surrounding lands).
Usually I like to give my character a good flaw of some kind that the DM can play with and torture my character with. I can be somewhat of a "power player," mostly that's 'cause I see my character as a "Hero," not just ordinary "joe character" (if you understand -- we all want our characters to be Heros). I mostly do Fighter types, Rangers and the like, an occasional Bard or a Fighter/Sorcerer, and of course Red Dragon Disicple! My alignment usually ends up being N/G or CG. I have though, played L/N, L/G and C/E when it is "called" for.
I like to work with my GM in creating a character, and can some times seem to be a pain asking questions. I try to make as complete a character as possible, with just the "right" amount of "Flawed" Hero to add spice
