socmajor's Details [Statistics Help]
DM Level: 3rd, 92.12%
DM Title: Exemplary Understudy of the Third Circle

Player Experience Points: 1125

I've been playing rpgs since I was 9 years old, but I've just recently got into NWN multiplayer games. It works with my schedule better than pnp. I love to roleplay characters with a low statistic or two- and I'm really dangerous with a wisdom deficiency...

I've been doing a lot more dm'ing than playing lately, and I really enjoy it. It comes with a whole different set of responsibilities, concerns, and freedoms than running games in PnP. I prefer to run games where I see characters interact with each other on a real level, rather than players just trying to artificially get along. I enjoy it when players come up with "out of the box" solutions for problems presented in-game, and I work hard through creative dice rolls and wand usage to allow the players to interact with and affect the world they're playing in.

My games are generally low treasure, slow advancement, and dangerous at low levels. Characters should expect to run from fights if they're outnumbered or outmatched. I generally consider PvP death to be permanent, so consider that when you come up with a concept.

Even for one-shot games, I like ot know something more about your character than "Thog is a violent barbarian, motivated by personal honor." I can't make a game fun for you without knowing something about your character. Here are some links to help with characterization and background development:

Even if my weekly campaign seems full, feel free to PM me. You never know when we have a spot open, and only 5-6 of the players are on every week. The remaining few play intermittent characters whose absences fit their concepts and aren't disruptive.

If you want to try your hand with the dm client, feel free to pm me. As my campaign grows, having an extra hand or two always helps. I'm more than willing to have someone on for a game or three to work with basic dm stuff; just remember that I've only been at this a few months myself.

Also, I am generally sitting around an IRC channel- #Calimshan on the Darkmyst server. If I'm not busy, I'll be there to answer any questions or just chat. irc://irc.darkmyst.org/#Calimshan
