I started off in world of Dungeons and Dragons and Role Play games, roughly when I was 7 years old. My older brother took me under his wing with games such as Eye of the beholder, Dungeons and Dragons, Menzoberranzan and a load more. I also used to play HeroQuest the board game a lot, either as a player or the dungeon master. I’ve always been a big fan on the DnD range of computer games; I fell in love with Baldur’s Gate when it was released in 1998, and from then on I have played the whole DnD Wizards range.
I used to play BG1/BG2 online for a while hosting and joining in sessions with friends, then upon the release of NWN In 2002, I was drawn into a Role Play server called Aria. Never have I come such a fantastic atmosphere to role play in. After moulding and shaping many of my personalities in Aria and becoming a big part of the PW after a year or so, I was offered the opportunity of becoming a DM, without any doubt in my mind I took this offer as a new step.
In Aria we all had a take a Faerun deity handle, after a long think I ended up changing a few times and became Cyric the Prince of Lies. Most of my run events were taken place during prime times on the server with many people attending. I used to run events for the good guys and the bad guys. After awhile the Aria DM team became split into two sides much like politics, then I and a few others ended up splitting from Aria and NWN, hoping for the release of NWN2. Upon the release of NWN2 I (as of most) was very disappointed. So I have returned back to NWN and will be hosting my own sessions again, once I have some new content on my server built.
I mostly make my own small modules (all which are set in the Forgotten Realms) and host private DM sessions to my friends and anyone willing to join in, that’s why I have joined NWC to offer more players the fun they deserve.
I like my events to start from some thing small, which will unravel into a great story with an easy to follow plot. Also I make sure whatever happens in the event the responsibility and actions come down to the whole group as a team. Weather you’re seeking fame or fortune I will always make the quest appeal to you. I do take great involvement learning about the players and their characters having a note pad handy writing down there personality, so I can make sure they have a great time.
I have read more than a few Forgotten Realms novels
The Avatar Series 1) Shadowdale 2) Tantras 3) Waterdeep 4) Prince of Lies 5) Crucible: The Trial of Cyric the Mad
The Dark Elf Trilogy 1) Homeland 2) Exile 3) Sojourn
AD&D Book of Vile Darkness
AD&D Monster Manual 3.5
AD&D Players Handbook
Dalelands
Pirates of the Fallen Stars
Raves of Faerun
Sea of Fallen Stars
((Still reading War of the Spider Queen series, many of the AD&D Player and Dungeons Masters handbooks))
I will update my list as I’m always reading AD&D and FR books.
Thanks for taking time to read this, Elvindark.
