In my opinion, there are two basic types here on NWC. There's the crusty old-timer D&D types, who still own their 1st edition stuff (and treasure it like nothing else), and there are those who come from the world of computer gaming. Count me amongst the former. What drew me to NWN was the promise of the DM Client. I saw teh potential for a close representation of PnP, and, needless to say, it has come closer than I could have expected. I run with a bunch of miscreants called Fleet Street (shameless plug: www.fleetstreetgaming.com) I run mostly campaigns, as I like a good tale spun about the fates of heroes. Thanks to Rizzen, we've got one hell of a place to run games!
