bnielson's Details [Statistics Help]

DM Title: Superior Story Teller of the Inner Sanctum

Player Experience Points: 353

I am creating a series of stand alone adventures that have an "arc story" that runs through them. This series is called "The Light Reborn." (See my web page for info.) To that end, I primarily DM my adventures when playing on-line. Because it takes so long to write new adventures I tend to play one adventure many times with different groups. (As opposed to having groups that I play with regularly.) I think this creates a good alternative for those interested in a one shot high quality adventure experience rather than having to commit to playing once a week or on a regular basis. However, that is not to say I may not choose to do a campaign in the furture when I have enough of my series completed. I'd like to give that a try some time too.

I try to strike a balance between role playing, story, and action. I tend to dislike pure role playing (with only an on the fly story to create role playing situations.) I hate hack and slash with a passion. And I think a story only game (Final Fantasy style), is inappropriate for a multiplayer game. Thus I am looking for a balance between all three.

Oh yea, and I like suprises. This may take the form of an unexpected trap, a reoccuring character, or a twist ending, but expect to have a at least one surprise in each adventure.
