Time for a six-month update! Well, Neverwinter Nights 2 is still not here, but even if it was, I doubt I'll buy it. Playing on NWC was fun, but playing a campaign simply is not possible for me due to my ever-changing work schedule and my growing interest in other hobbies. (For those of you who have read bios in the past - yes, I still knit... now I crochet! Cue: *crickets chirruping* *lonely tumbleweed rolls by*)
I still think about this game though so I haven't ruled out possibly playing NWN (or even the sequel) again.
As a player, I tend to be easy-going when working with others and am only interested in having fun in the game rather than trying to present 'as real as possible a true roleplaying experience that simulates pen and paper.' Obsessive purism like this somewhat annoys me when I see it devalues other people's enjoyment of the game (usually people new to RPG's and NWC, in general). However, I like players that present challenges to me that my character must resolve. I (My characters) do not always solve them successfully, but stumble along with the party as the campagin progresses. Fun! :)
I draw my inspiration mostly from folklore and real-life. "Ilyra Glimmermere" was inspired from the "Thumbelina story" and the hyper personality of a co-worker. :) I also like working with cliches, but I hope my expression of those cliches with my fellow players are never boring to them.
I like DM'ing, too, but am still a novice at it. "One of these days," I tell myself, "I'll host a one-shot."
