Comments Concerning Carlo One
Comment By: Arawen
Desperate Measures was the best and most intense NWN roleplaying experience I have ever experienced. Carlo One set up a unique scenario in which PCs dealt with love, despair, hope, moral dilemmas, PC relationships, and a high level of game challenge that accorded perfectly with the story. A brilliant one shot game, with vivid, wonderfully played NPCs, great customization around the PCs bios, and high drama.

I found this game thoroughly enjoyable game, the npcs were amazingly well done and the idea was original and very interesting to play through. Thank You. Highly recommened!

Almost a year on, and Desperate Measures is still the most immersive experience I have ever had in NWN.

Carlo's "Desperate Measures" and "The Hunted" modules gave me by far some of the best and most memorable experiences in my time in NWC (and I've had many). When he takes the DM hat and tells the story himself, you can be sure that you're in for some remarkable roleplaying. Attention to the players, allowing and creating new ideas any time, giving personal attention to each character's background, and doing the job of 4 DMs by himself: those are Carlo's trademarks. I feel blessed to be participating in his "Westgate Campaign". Thank you!

Carlo has the top rank in this list because he was the DM in charge of Desperate Measures and The Hunted (his own creations) and these games hold my favourite moments out of any here at NWC! He somehow manages to do the work of multiple DMs with incredible ease - one wonders if he has that machine from Multiplicity to clone himself and act as a whole DM team and his depiction of the 'warden' in Desperate Measures is the level of roleplaying that I strive to hit. I can't see how playing in any of games would ever lead to disappoint - if anything you'll be left with memories to cherish.

Carlo continues to run a top-notch campaign that I am sure is sometimes difficult to handle with five players with their own agendas. He keeps us working hard but his plans never seem to be so set in stone that when one of us zigs when we should have zagged, Carlo just rolls with it. You're a big part of the reason I keep showing up, Carlo! -KatDragon

Wow, what a difficult game for a palidan! I figured it would be that way, but I hadn't anticipated all the problems I would face with the other players. I think I might have been able to get out if I had grabbed the halfing while greeseing him up rather than waiting until he was at the door with the others... d'oh! If only I had thought of that sooner. Ah well, it will be interesting to play the sequal from the point of Regal.. now that he has to contend with his mistake.
Only criticisim I can think of is that it was way too quite. Maybe this was for effect, but it seems there should at least be some ambiant sounds.. dripping maybe, or far off yells/screams from other prisoners every once in a while. Unforutnatly, I can't comment on the rest of the mod for as you know I was killed ;)
Excellent game. Looking forward to the sequal.

A great time. I'm glad to breath again! Of course, now we will need to work even harder together to get out of Damara alive! I'm certain that the ghost of Steven Deschain will haunt us very soon.

I enjoyed this session thoroughly, even though this one wasn't combative or NPC-intensive. The gathering of all companions and relating information was in itself a well-done game, and leaves me hungry for the next session to come.

I have tried my hands at DMing recently. And that's exactly when I realized just how much incredible talent you have. I am simply utterly impressed. And at a loss for words. Thank you!

Great game as usual Carlo.

Such a simple mod made into a wonderful session. Without any bells and whistles it takes an outstanding DM to add such life to the plot. All the NPC's were used wonderfully. The swaping between them at times was so fast and seemless I felt there were multiple DM's. The session was ran flawlessly. I would recommend a Carlo One game to anyone.
