Just when I thought I’ve seeing everything PC surprises me with his great DMing style. Each NPC had a life of his/he own, but what amazed me more what the fact that each PC has the opportunity to really shine in a particular way during the game. A honor playing with you.

What can I say about Poetic Colossus that has not alreayd been said several dozen times? The guy is a FANTASTIC DM! Ran a game that easily ranks in my top 5 games ever played - and I've been playing since the get-go under various names. NPCs? What NPCs? They're all like player-run characters! The depth of storyline is outstanding. The execution of movements and timing is perfect. He's the MAN. If you've never played in one of his games, you have no idea what you're missing. 'Nuff said.

The session was well organized and it was obvious that the DM had done a good deal of preparing before hand. He knew the NPC's, knew the layout, and had plenty of triggerable set-pieces for sparkle.

The DM wasn't pushy about moving players on from one section to the next and didn't contrive situations to force the players onward against their intentions.

XP was award with reasons given and all bonuses were explained. XP was awarded for real accomplishments and not just handed out to meet some kind of XP requirement.

You had some new tricks implemented this time. Interesting. I've never seen things like that glowing stick done before.

We're gonna miss you at Gencon. Especially now that I lack an ally against Dave in munchkin. And also, without the bimbo bard, whom shall carry my Orc's stuff?

Post baby pictures.

Amazing campaign with a great finish.

Character arcs were a nice touch.

Keep thoughts for a sequel on back burner, but don't jump the gun right away on it. Too much of a good thing, and all that.

Two of the finest DMs ever! Very supportive of newer players and always easy to talk to! Simply the best!

Challenging, frustrating, exciting! The NPCs are as interesting as the players, each with distinct personalities and quirks. Well-played and fun to play off of. These DMs are the creme de la creme!

What a time to open up reviews again, eh? Lotsa server side problems this time it seems, with people dropping in and out left and right. And then the notorious faction glitch. You covered that fairly well though, all things considered. Also, one more thing I'm wondering about- was Debar given a saving throw? Wasn't that a spell that a saving throw was possible? It would have taken a natural 20 though.

The setting magnifies the eeriness of the plot. There are ample opportunities to screw up in the name of right and good. The NPCs make it easy to forget they are NPCs and roleplaying with them demonstartes the expertise these DMs have with NWNs and the story. Amazing details!

A fine job on module building! The scenes were tastefully done IMO and the NPC's were very well played. All in all a very pleasant RPing experience!

Pure excellence! The design was beautiful, the plot intriguing, and Poetic Colossus was a superb DM. I can't imagine it getting much better than this.

I especially liked the wagon ride to the destination. What a clever way to give the characters some early RP time together.

I really hope for a future opportunity to play in his games.

Great game! Good plot and excellently balanced between fighting and roleplaying. The character-driven subplot was also very well done, as were the NPC's. Definetly going on my top 5.

I am sorry to have rated your game low on some points, but I felt that one player over took the story of the game that it became all about that player. I enjoy that atomspheric setting, the mood, and Jander's story, but I wish I could have had time to roleplay with my other fellow players a bit more or at least see some situations where others would have gotten a chance to shine. I did see our fearless leader at least given some opportunities and appreciate that very much. However, I feel overall, the fun factor was disappointing.

Great orginisation and coordination on the part of the DMs.

Wonderful use of the dice bag: integrated smoothly and nearly invisibly into gameplay. One suggestion, given that these are one-shots: launch the server earlier to give people time to level and buy: maybe 20-30 minutes before game time?

Poetic Colossus and shfree presented a fun wonderful game. Fun roleplay with the NPCs and quick responses to player actions. The background story with the multiple tasks all contributed to the build-up for the session. Thanks for a great session.

Once again, hats off to PC and co for a great one-shot. Great NPC work, solid adventure and funb throughout, The Hero Stone Series has yeilded a lot of good characters and adventures. Cheers!

Poetic C, you're absolutely great. And trust me, I had my share of games in my NWC lifespan. You build impressive areas, your NPCs all have great distinct personalities, but I HATE your OOC shopping area - lol. No, truth be told, you're my current no.1 DM (that's only cause I can't rate myself - haha). Love your games and hope to experience many of them from now on. -- Anya

A very enjoyable session with a varied and interesting group, that I'd gladly play with again. Despite a large amount of players, the DMs managed to keep the game flowing, under control and interesting. PC's one shots continue to be marked by quality. This session was brought to you by the word Charge.

12/10/05 9 10 10 10 10 8 9 8 9 10
This is a great game, it's well-designed for the one-shot format and the DMs offer ways for characters of all types to contribute and stand out, as well as chances for the PCs to roleplay with each other almost constantly.

NPCs are well-played and serve a good purpose, and major enemies are puppetteered well in combat. The encounters are tough, but fair, and the party always had a fighting chance, even against the dragon at the end.

My first adventure with PC was very enjoyable, indeed. He ran a smooth, but tough game, with interesting NPCs and a good balance between RP and action. I hope I can play another one soon.

Colussus ran a fine game I really enjoyed it. The other players were excellent roleplayers and only made for an even better game. In the end we died but we had a good time doing it... :P

11/27/05 9 10 10 9 10 9 9 9 9 9
I enjoyed the RP especially, and the combats were challenging. We did our own part as a group to make it harder with a misplaced fireball that fried two important NPC's. Otherwise we probably would've beat Frostbite at the end. Kudos to the DM team.

Excellent one-shot adventure Poetic Colososs, keep the Heroes Stone going...I can see it bring lots of players to the best aspect of NWN-multiplayer with DMs!!!

Nicely done all the way around. A tidy adventure with enough space for some good character work with the NPCs to shine through. Solidly entertaining for three-plus hours. Huzzah!

This was my first game using the NWC system, and I have to say it made my week. I had a slight connection problem, but once I was back it didn't even seem to phase anyone. I had a great time.

Wonderfully done. Poetic Colossus did a superb job and everything ran smoothly as silk. From what I can tell, this appears to have been a relatively long session, but the time flew by, and by the end, I wanted to continue playing. Excellent. :)

Hrrmmm review.. without spoilers heee hee..surprisingly not hard..I've started signing on for the one shot here and there...and PC and Lilivati disappoint in only one thing..*sob* the second mod ISN'T READY..OHH NOO.. I love games that support creative, non combative solutions..this is indeed a mod for dm's..I can see what latitude of freedom it grants the dm and the party..the apporaches are myriad..consequences of actions far reaching..not always apparent til the end, or as I suspect, until further on in future mods..I was very lucky to be playing with tremendous group of players, Mulu, Felstein, Skeeny..OMG it was an all star cast, of some of the best players at this site, and PC and Lilavati..just rose to the challenge, were so outstanding, both flexing with this fine group and telling a touching and sad story, setting the tone right from the start with that poem from Keats as the players ported into game..a game I will remember of a long time, and I mean it, and gonna hold your feet to the fire PC to get that next mod done *grins* and invite the same cast of characters back for Chapter two.. in this grim and spooky land..   Phenomenal one-shot game. Well put together, great dms and players, I enjoyed it and learned from the experience. Good use of tells, not heavy-handed, great sound placements. Particularly strong use of other PCs to make the adventure come alive for my character. Kudos!

Gah, PC, what can I say? You did it again. When I think over your games, it's hard to pick out one thing and say, man, that just blew me away! (though it's all above-par), but your consistent ability to seamlessly mesh every element that makes a game fantastic is what makes your games as a whole stand high above the rest. Though of course I'm sad to see it end, enjoy your respite- you've more than earned it dealing with this crew! I can only hope that your effort was worth as much to you as it was to all of us. We joke about it a lot, but I can say with all sincerity that I still learn something new as a DM with every game of yours I play.

I am ruined now. Never again might I find a game that has spoiled me so. And now it has unfortunately drawn to an end. Perhaps I should just end it all now, so that I will not experience the inevitable disappointment in any other campaign! The one thing staying my hand, besides common sense, is the promise of a sequel!

I'm not sure I can review this. It is hours later, halfway into my next day at work, and I am still buzzing. How the hell do you do it? Everything seems to fall into place so perfectly... Rules, setting, encounters, atmosphere, plot... There is nothing I can see any way to improve, and I am a born critic. This wasn't a video game - It was a work of fiction, and a truly great one. I'm going to miss this campaign far, far more than I can decently admit. Had I my way, you would now be in a basement, feeding off a shrimp farm and working away on the sequel. Oddly enough, the highest recommendation I can give. I really appreciate the effort you have put into this, and I've had a wonderful time. Thank you.

Ahhh..twas a fitting end to the best multiplayer NWN experience that I have ever had the honor of being apart of...But like all great stories, there has to be an ending to a magnificent chapter in our characters lives. I decided to grade this after the spectacular climax and it just had absolutely everything I could have hoped for. Kudos goes to PoeticC for bringing this story to life and making our characters mean that much more to us even. It doesn't do enough justice to merely grade these sessions on an individual level, but as a whole, the result is pure gold. Thank you PC for a wonderful campaign and come back soon so we can start the second story arc for these characters!!!

The best game I've played this year. Worth turning up at work on a Monday morning after only two hours sleep. To be frank, I don't want it to end. Alas, all good things must end, and real life isn't as helpful as it could be, either. I really appreciate the amount of effort that has gone into this campaign, and it has made it one of the greatest times I've had, not just on NWC, but in roleplaying and D&D full stop. Bravo, man.

*Waves the small 'PC' flag*

  Another great game!

10/17/04 8 9 9 8 8 9 9 10 8 9
PC ran his usual excellent game in spite of a split party and multiple NPCs being used simultaneously. Maybe it's a little mechanics-focused, but making a game flow smoothly under those circumstances is one of those things that separates the veterans from the amateurs.

10/12/04 10 10 9 10 10 8 9 10 10 10
ho hum, just yet another incredible game...

I know the amount of energy and effort it takes to put something like this together, then make it 'work' week after week. Yes, we're a great group :P but it all comes together because of the effort of Poetic Colussus!

10/12/04 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10
A game good enough to invoke vast, post-writing obsesion in me. I should probably run through the 'world evolves around players' and 'open-ended freedom' cliches, too... But they'd make this game sound like all the others, at a glance. It isn't. This is pure gold.

10/04/04 9 9 9 10 10 8 9 8 10 9
Fun, fun, fun! Thats what happens every week here. I've never seen a group so absolutely anxious to play every week. Its a testament to the high quality and fun that this campaign provides. Great job once again Poetic! keep it up, we love it!

Another fantastic game where Poetic C complimented the fantastic collection of characters with a memorable journey on the river that was both exciting and mysterious at the same time. And like I said it before, I've been having the time of my life. Kudos to you PC!!

well well, how about that, another totally excellent game. You guys are simply outstanding! I have no idea who's playing which NPC, but in a game with no combat, this is an all-important part, and your NPC's are SO real! So Believable! heh.. you guys should be actors... oh, wait, at least one of you are aren't you ;) It shows, it shows. Can't wait for more.

Its been 5 sessions now and I must admit that this has got to be the best sessions I have ever participated in. We all know our characters and the DM's so well that these sessions are truly 'Alive' for me. From the vibrant town of Riverthrow to the animated NPC's that live there, I truly lose myself in these sessions and its a testament to the DM's and preparation they put into it. Of all the sessions I've played on NWC, this is the only one I would truly feel bad about missing. Yes its THAT GOOD.

09/26/04 7 9 10 9 8 5 7 9 8 8
Mood and feel of Ravenloft are dead-on throughout. The dim rain works well, although the constant near-blackness of the adventure can get wearing. Excellent use of placed sound helps alleviate this.

(Suggestion: Light the camp more warmly - let it feel like a momentary break from the dark, and change the entry point slightly so the PCs walk past the fire and through the celebrants to get to the caravan. Slightly more soft lighting in and around the grove won't hurt either.)

The layout does an excellent job of _feeling_ large without actually spending hours trekking across random forest tiles.

NPCs were well portrayed, varied and very interesting. (Loved the play off Taren and Phanthos in the grove!)

DMs responded well to special actions or requests by PCs.

09/26/04 9 10 10 9 10 8 9 8 8 10
This was certainly one of the best games I've played. The module was well-designed and smoothly run. The DMs kept the party moving through the plot in the alotted time for the game while still giving attention to each major encounter and possessing important NPCs. The NPCs were played in a way consistent with their situation and goals, but also made an effort to interact with each of the players. Overall, great DMing job.

Had great fun. I rarely play evil chars but decided to try for this game and had a great time. The DM's gave me lots of options without me having to endanger my position within the party. Had a great time, constantly recieved little messages which told me what I was sensing as I travelled and it really added atmosphere. Some great npc's and lovely use of effects at times too. Rolls were made by the DM and didn't intrude on the game. All in all a great job.

09/25/04 8 5 10 7 5 6 6 7 6 7
The game started well and had great atmosphere, but then it got bogged down with lots of walking around and standing around. The material was well done, I'd just look at finding a way to push slow play along. This becomes more important in games that are one shot and have a fixed, limited amount of time to play.

[Poetic Colossus's reply to comment: Lol...Well, I think that might have something to do with the fact that your char asked before the game started, "make sure we distribute magic items to each proper class...". Some rp'ers prefer to roleplay those types of things out, but arena channel is not that far from roleplay on gamespy, so good luck with that. :)]

Some things, I bet you never get sick of hearing. 'A truly excellent game, once again'! Many impressive little details, not the least of which was your ability to do this ALL ALONE! One thing that really stood for me was the encounter balance. It simply could not have been better. Not too easy, not too hard, just dead on.

That was just an awesome game. I can't wait to see the implementation of the rather outside-the-engine concepts for certain specialty abillities that are scattered across the characters, due to their backgrounds. ie: Herbology to develope new projectile weaponry, or other things, and the elusive Speak-with-the-dead ability that has yet to actually be used.

well, well, well... things really picked up steam this week. Great encounters and balance. The atmosphere was perfect! The tension in the tunnels was almost overwhelming. Very well put together, and well run.

Great game as usual from one of my personal favorite players/DM's on NWC. Given that the module was not even her creation, she did a fantastic job bringing it to life.

Initially there were some problems with the server and one character could not log in and join the mod but after the first 30 minutes, everything ran smooth as silk. This accounts for my late to start vote. However, in the DM's defense, I think that the players (myself included) my have logged on with not enough time to create a character, level up, and purchase equipment. Future players should definitely log on at least 30 minutes prior to game start time for character creation.

This is an amazing module! Put your thinking caps on boys and girls for this one. The time limit of 4.15 hours was perfect for this one shot module and I was disappointed that it ended. The DMs were amazing and created some very interesting NPCs. Their (re)actions all seem appropriate to the varying situations. The module's look, feel, & sounds were very appropriate & original.

The players worked well together considering this was a random selection for a one shot mod. Roleplaying was particularly well done and everyone should have received a best in game award!

I am happy to say that this session is my first ever vote for a Top 5 Best DM'd games. If anyone has the opportunity to play this mod with these DMs by all means do so.

Game was fun and went well after early technical problems. Mod was a little tough, but DM's created a great environment so fun was still had by all. NPC's were very lifelike, added good personality to game, and players were given some opportunity to act outside the engine, including DM driven skill checks (good feature). All in all, a nice way to spend a gaming evening.

I enjoyed the first half of this one-shot adventure. A twist in the plot and some creative ambience made for an entertaining time that was easy to roleplay to the extreme within. However, after a mistaken direction given to the PCs, the adventure took a turn for the worse. An encounter with a pack of wolves was so difficult (perhaps you should require more than one fighter-type?) that it made the players question whether or not to continue down the plot path. Once at the climactic conclusion, most of the players died trying to fight...yes, perhaps diplomacy would've worked, but even so - it seemed as if either the foe was too difficult or the party ill-equipped to face him. I understand that the lack of experience amongst the others PCs may have contributed to this ending. After all, they seemed to not even grasp the HCR basics as they let teammates bleed to death as they stood and stared, failed to cast spells when fighting began, failed to cast buff spells before fighting, failed to heal those who were fighting (and losing), and generally failed to do much of anything to assist.

another excellent adventure gentlemen! The areas were interesting, and NPC's wonderful. That we did not find battle for the second week, did not bother me in the least. Battles without good reason are just silly anyway ;) In fact, they are now so long coming, I'm getting fearful of when we do! LOL... the fear of anticipation creeps in... 'I don't wanna die!' he cries...

Again, a very fun game and up to your usual standard. The thing with the druid was a little strange, but you did a nice job clearing that up post-game. At the end of every game, I can't believe I have to wait a week to play in this again.

First, this wasn't the start of the campaign and two of the players were absent. This was basically a create your character and a meet and greet with the other players. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the session. DMs were understanding that this was some players first time at a multiplayer experience and took time to explain and teach. Custom content was amazing. Words really can't describe the effort the DMs put into the session. Content was designed specific to the characters' background. I look forward to the campaign and future sessions.

Oooh Very good. Very enjoyable. This was definately the best game I've played on NWC so far. The whole atmosphere was very tense and I really felt vulnerable out there (at least I had my trusty Holy Symbol!) Sound was used to great effect and really added to the tension (the wolves howling in the distance, the screams from within the cave etc). The NPC were well-played, interesting and unique. I really liked the ability to customize our clothing at the begining, so we all looked great :D Good job, and I'd love to play in another of your games (hopefully in the near future!)

Wow...that was one of the most immersive experiences I have had playing NWN. Outstanding storyline, flawless roleplaying of the NPCs, evil surprises, and transitions that were smooth as glass. I found myself in a cold sweat playing this game. Anyone who has a chance to play in a game DMed by Lillivati and Poetic Colossus will NOT be disappointed. Simply outstanding in all aspects. I only hope for the rest of your sakes they decide to rerun this again as a one-shot. BRAVO!!!

This game was ridiculously good. There were lots of atmoshperic moments as well as excellent roleplaying situations and lovely scenerey. The DMs handled everything really smoothly, even when some actions we wanted to take might have (accidentally) messed up their plot. They made us all feel a real sense of accomplishment for our actions and penalized us in such..... interesting ;)... ways that it actually made the experience even more enjoyable. Definitely one of my top games and top DM teams.

Good Job!

Good solid DM'd game. They both pulled off a really good PnP feel. Virtually no real scripted dialogue in the whole affair. Which is really hard to do.

Really a great game. Both of the DMs were personable, competent and creative. The module had a great atmosphere and the game had a couple of small twists to keep it interested. A very good one-shot.

Fantastic first game, guys, though I've rather come to expect games of such a high caliber from you. The twilight funeral was perfect, the sudden appearance of the letter astounding (though in honesty half the credit for that has to go to Froz's drama with Luther), and though I was expecting something to have happened with Megira the actual nature of it caught me by surprise. I think this campaign is off to a fabulous start!

08/30/04 9 10 10 10 10 9 9 10 10 9
well.. some of the categories don't really fit for this, but to those I just gave a '9'. the real key is 'fun-factor' and this was right at the top! You guys did a fantastic job of bringing this little corner of the realm to life. First rate npc's too. I have no problems whatsoever with a 'no combat' session, as long as things stay interesting, and they certainly did here. Can't wait for more...

08/30/04 9 9 10 9 10 10 10 10 10 9
Mmm... Detailed. The amount of planning that has gone into this game really shows, and I think it is spurring the players on - It certainly worked on me. Come to think of it, I have no reservations about staying up until 4am on a Monday morning to play in this. I think that speaks for itself, really, eh?

Wow, after the 2 months (at least) of preparation and story development on our part (the players) and even longer by the DM's, I am glad to say that I was not disappointed with our first session. I had very high expectations and they were met in stride and this is only the first session. I am certain already that it can only get better from here on out and this is due both to a wonderful collection of players and two outstanding DM's. Poetic C and Outcrowd1, I salute you :) _Tarridus

Great module. Really was the darkest evil atmosphere I had played in. Great use of the mist, creepy, yes.

Overall? I loved this game, and that's pretty much all I can say there. The DMing was great; some of the touches handled there were very nice, especially the many many dicerolls used throughout inter-party travel.

The atmosphere of the game was immense - even as a player I felt worried what could be around the next corner, and I think it showed with character hesitance? Bah. ;) The whole feel of the mod was beautiful, especially for a newbie to the lands of Ravenloft. Thanks, PC!

One thing I marked down on, was treasure. Don't get me wrong, we received treasure, it's just I didn't see what it was until right at the end, during OOC area, just before the server went and the game ended. Otherwise, i'd mark higher.

Keep up the good work, PC - here's to the next adventure in Ravenloft!

The setting you have created for this adventure was absolutely great. The dark ominous atmosphere of Ravenloft really made an appearance. I hope we'll be able to continue the adventure really soon.

Helluva game! I mean... really... Helluva game. This was my second game with a DM. In the first one I knew I was in a game. This was an adventure! It took me straight back to my PnP college days. Would recommend to anyone. Will hunt for your games. Wait! If I tell people about you I won't get in to any of your games. So on second thought, he's horrible. Don't play with him! STAY AWAY! :) Helluva game.

  DM's,

An excellent game! I hadn't played NWN in awhile and this was just the game I needed, thanks. I thought the NPC's were well roleplayed, I especially enjoyed the village guards (if Vadim was on the other side of that gate would have been trouble). The game was well organized and you two handled all out of the box things well (moving the book case for example). My only complaint is that I wasn't able to see the game through to the end. Great game guys and I hope to get in on some of your other games,

Vual

Very good game! The atmosphere set the mood in a Ravenloft mod perfectly, with dark lighting and dreary settings. There was a constant feeling of fear throughout the entire game. I dont think that could have been done any better. I like the fact that many in game die rolls were made that the DM's used for tells and such. This gave the game a PnP feel to it. I personally prefer to make the rolls myself, but in a Single Adventure of this nature I beleive this would slow the game down too much, so being able to see the rolls you made was the next best thing. There were not an abundance of NPC's but the ones there were rich with personality, especially Jander. I enjoyed how descriptive you were during his posession. Well done! I eagerly await the next session, and I'd like very much to have Regan and Kron team up together on that one if at all possible. Send me that invite!

Probably one of the most atmospheric games I've ever played in. I have to confess that I didn't like stumbling around in mist and fog much, but I think it was mostly due to my computer settings and the novelty of the environment to me. I am glad that you both still continued even though we lost half of our party till it was just down to two players. I still enjoyed this game, although I had the feeling I didn't see the complete story because of the server crash and the necessity of having to start over my character (I wonder why I keep forgetting to export? Gah!). Loved some of the dramatic scenes that took place in this run, including ones I am guessing were not planned for. Hope one of the characters wasn't too upset when Regan slapped his hand! See you both soon in another game, I hope!

I am still in awe. The locales in this game were stunning. I have never stared so hard at the screen checking every shadow before. The lighting was very well dona and made the ground look awesome. Excellent work on the mod and handling the game.

Definitely the best game I've had yet. When I saw CEP, I thought the worst, but I was proven wrong by excellent atmosphere and npcs.

WOW!!Great game!! Looked the look of the mod,in fact I may steal some ideas for one I have in my mind :b . it had a real PnP feel to it and a good group for a one shot. Great DMing...nice NPC's...perfect. Great Job.

  A most excellent game.

The atmosphere was creepy (which is precisely what one would hope for in the Ravenloft setting). The mood was set perfectly, and the DM's insistence that everyone remain in-character really helped drive the spirit of the thing.

There were a number of NPCs with whom to have conversatons - even some you wouldn't necessarily expect. This is not a game where you will get a chance to feel comfortable. You (or your character, at least), will be in constant danger or under constant threat of danger, at the least. The fact that resting was restricted helped maintain the sense of urgency, as well.

If you are heavily into Hack n' Slash gaming or Powergaming, this was not the game or DM for you. But if you want a creepy/gothic horror environment, are willing to use your imagination a little, and enjoy real role-playing, you would have loved this session!

On the technical end - there were a LOT of effects going on most of the time, which for me, having a bare-minimum system to play NWN made it a bit difficult, at first. (I suspect it really was mostly my system, and not my connection, as I have a cable modem.) Fortunately, after a short while, I was able to settle into a groove, and things played along pretty smoothly. The effects really help set the mood, though, and I cannot fault the DM for my own system's weaknesses.

The combats that did come to play were a little on the difficult side, but again, this is the dangerous realm of Ravenloft - combat SHOULD be difficult. If it hadn't been for the institution of the bleeding rule, and the provision of bandages, we would not have lasted long. As it was, things were difficult, but we all survived... thanks to the help of our comrades. Teamwork was ESSENTIAL here. A character going of on his or her own would not have lasted long.

The DM obviously put forth some real effort in maintaining the mood, and playing out his various roles as administrator and actor behind all the NPC roles. In the end, this pays off for everyone.

Over-all a great time was had by all, I believe.

I am very much looking forward to the next installment of this game!

All around excellent game. PC has done a great job bringing the world of Ravenloft to life... or should that be... un-life. In any event, the mod design was very good, NPCs well played and the plot was interesting and easy to follow. His use of skill checks really gave the mod a PnP feel and brought a lot to the game. The only reason I didn't give you top marks on

PC did a great job designing this mod, the plot was great.

My only complaint was that I felt a bit rushed, and either the session could have gone on for a bit longer, or the module could have been broken up into two sessions.

Other than that, it was fun!

Wow! What a fantastic game! The way you DMed and allowed for extensive RP influence truly brought the game to life. Ravenloft is a wonderfully atmospheric place, and a blast to experience with you at the helm. At first I was happy to join a one-session game, but now I find myself craving more :) Great work!

In a word...suh-WEET! Poetic, you've always been an excellent roleplayer, and you've obviously applied everything you learned there to your work as a DM. The NPCs were astounding, unique, and original, and the game on a whole was a blast. Definitely Top 5 material. Viva Evil Chicken!

Well, you certainly hyped this game to the max, and damn but you do not disappoint, PC. I have no qualms in saying this was the best game I've ever played in; the setting was a perfect mixture of dread and despair, with a liberal sprinkling of near-hopelessness; the plot was cleverly devised and unpredictable; you reacted seamlessly and inventively to player actions. When a player did something that either sidetracked the game or didn't mesh with your vision for it, you managed to make it forward the game somehow. Also, wonderful job handling four distinct and off-kilter personalities among your players, especially Elegy since she probably gave you the most headaches. There were elements in the game that catered to each player's strengths (and indeed their weaknesses), and the custom items were a nice and somewhat unexpected touch. Use of tells and dicerolls added to the experience, rather than breaking the mood, especially rolling for the players rather than interrupting gameplay with

07/03/04 10 8 8 9 10 9 10 9 9 10
  Finest... Game... Played... Yet!!!

The atmosphere was delicious. The depth of things that might happen, astounding. The plot, pleasing to fans of the setting.

If there is anything to regret, its the fact that I repeatedly came close to doing something so much more, for the story, and even danced on the tip of the best ending, but I allowed myself to get drawn away to attempt, and rather stupidly fail at, my class obligations... I'm going to be kicking my own butt for weeks to come, since I found out I was but a centimeter away from winning the best ending for the module! And this was a module that made me absolutely hate myself for failing to achieve the best ending!

Make another, so that I can redeem myself!!!
