Zombie aliens! Dawn of the Living Dead meets Close Encounters of the Not So Pleasant Kind. A seriously fun session, lots for every one to do, scouts could scout, tech heads got to poke around in stuff, weapons specialists really got to shoot and boy did we need that doctor. Should I mention the psychologist wielding a chainsaw? Seamless DMing despite the amount of activity. I don't think it can get much better than this, but I can't help but hope it does.

This is a seriously enjoyable campaign so far, a brilliant example of what can be done with the D20 engine. The background RP on organising the resources is engaging and the RP/fighting balance is well managed. Plenty of time to engage with NPCs and PCs alike, particularly in this session over the medical support. Great fun, pure and simple.

Another entertaining outing, though coin continues to be virtually nil. Look forward to the next one.

It's about time I gave Lazybones a review, having been through two of his campaigns, and it's to say that I've thoroughly enjoyed them. Excellent pacing - sticking to two hour sessions means the game never drags, but at the same time we never seem rushed or railroaded. Fun, intelligent PCs who react well with what we do and say, solid plots with classic derring-do; LB's adventures are excellent examples of how NWN sessions should be run.

Thoroughly enjoyable session. It's not easy to draw in players deeply in a one shot, but the set up was fantastic and those traps and puzzles gave the game a feel that meant you didn't need an in depth story to be engaged. DM was completely on the ball all the way through, the fact that he picked up on every emoted action, without the need for prompting, and the occasional RP rewards making it obvious he was completely attentive to player activity all the way through. An example to us all, and I sincerely hope I get to experience it again some other time.

GGS was a wonderful campaign. In many ways I think it might have been the best yet, though that's a hard decision to make with your portfolio.

This is the D&D campaign I always dreamed of having as a kid.

Well done LB and GW, easily one of the best campains i've been in. It was allot of fun and i really enjoyed myself interacting with the other players and enviroment. The space battles was truely extraodinary, can't wait for your next game LB.

Once again I can say I played in the best games on this site, with the best group as well. It is a credit to you both that you can continue to come up with new, fresh, and enjoyable material. Game after game, session after session I am left wanting more. You kept the group together, focused on goals and left the dark vs light up to us while still making the game have a reason for both. I could write for days but you know and have heard this all. It is a pleasure.

A fantastic looking location, although it was a bit confusing what purpose the whole wall and fortress served. I loved the way it has built up the next session, showing the players and giving them time to plan. Not something I have done in a NWN game before and really enjoyed it. It was like being in one of those old war films. Great stuff!

This was the finale of a campaign I've been in since 2003. It is the very finest of Dming and building by Lazybones with help from Starbuck. I've played in a lot of good campaigns, but never one better than this.

The module itself was pretty impressive altho we did not see much of it the custem content was great.

As for the gameplay it seemed a little rough towards the end with the party not knowing where to go, i would suggest that at times like these the DM ushered the party along such as telling them enemies are closeing in to creat a sence of urgency within them. An enemy stronghold after all is NOT a place to lag around~

Aside from that tho it was a good game.

Once again a splendid campaign. Sorry to see Sleet and cohorts retiring, but maybe there will be more for them in the future (NWN2 - or siblings). Always amazed at what you do with the tools, and the roleplay and background is awesome as always. Looking forward to what Starwars will be! As always an honour to play and appreciate all your work! - Sleet

End of Campaign review: Well LB, you've provided us with more fun than anyone deserves to have in a game. This campaign over the last three years has been the foundation of my gaming experience in NWN, and indeed was better than even my fondly remembered PnP campaigns. You deserve a medal! I can't wait to see what NWN2 brings. Mulu

Outstanding conclusion to a campaign that's lasted nearly 4 years and taken us from starting characters to epic hero's. All along LB has been an amazing and flexible DM. Simply awesome!

This was the last session of the Shards of Malice campaign. I loved this campaign. Lazybones did a great job managing the campaign, excellent area design, challenging encounters, engrossing epic storyline.

I'm trying to think of any suggestions for improvement and not coming up with a lot. Relative to other DMs I've NWNd with, LB stands head and shoulders above the vast majority. Towards the second half of the campaign I noticed that at times the NPCs became a bit less responsive to certain individual players, but I'd ascribe that more to having 6 vocal players and it being difficult to respond to all 6 speaking at once - LB did a superlative job with NPCs in general. Bravo!

02/28/06 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10
Just outstanding! High level campaigns are tough to keep balanced, but LB and SB managed to keep things challenging without being overwhelming. The plot is excellant and engaging, the combats are exciting, and they establish a great setting to allow the players to role-play in (even if the party can manage to extend out a half-hours worth of play into three hours of game time with all of our talking).

Lazybones is one of the greatest DMs of all time. He runs a tightly plotted game that still allows scope for individual character development. He pays careful attention to the challenge level of the encounters we face, making for a challenging game where poor tactics can quickly lead to death. Lazybones is highly organized, leading to little wasted time while playing. He also does the best job I've ever seen at running different NPCs.

I've played with numerous other DMs, including some highly rated here, and every time I do, I'm reminded as to just how good Lazybones is relative to the average.

11/29/05 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10
I am consistently, and pleasantly, surprised at how well balanced this game is. The combat is challenging without being overwhelming (on either side), the plot is engaging with nice role-playing opportunities. Overall, it is just an excellant game.

I had a great time LB. Thanks for running this. Like the first time I DM'ed Firefly w/Forrestwolf, I found myself looking around, trying to soak in every detail and forgetting my duties. :)

So when does the Star Wars Campaign start? Cause I'm so there...LION

Lazybones has created an amazing world and a terrific - of what I've read thus far - storyline for Dragon's Village. The ease with which he switched from NPC to NPC was flawless. I've had games with multiple DMs that could not match this performance. I also appreciated the way the areas were designed, that the various rooms in the Citadel appeared on the same map. When you have a clunky hard drive any transition screen that is eliminated makes a HUGE difference. Above and beyond all, Lazybones did a terrific job of acclimating me AND my character to an established campaign. I cannot wait for the next session! - JD

As always, just outstanding. Great hook and build-up for the campaign and excellant jobs with the NPC's. Very frustrating that I will be gone for the next two weeks (although I am looking forward to the vacation) and will be eager to find out what has been happening upon my return.

Fantastic! That is about the best word to describe the most recent episode of our long-running campaign. Truly a joy to play under this masterful DM team. I can hardly stand to wait until I can join in with the next adventure.

I have to say that this was just a fantastic session in Return. It is hard to properly balance a higher level group. Mosters are too tough, they walk all over the party in spite of their combined powers, too easy and the group is dissatisfied. Just a great job of keeping that proper balance. I really felt like we were pushed to our combined limits during this session, and it was great!

Very well run session given the challenges involved. Party being short members and great difficulty in overcoming a very tough foe, but they did an excellant job of using in-game resources to pull the party through without falling back on some mysterious divine intervention sort of thing. What I have come to excpect out of these GM's, but it is still much appreciated and makes for a very enjoyable game. Bravo.

I've generally always loved this series of modules through this campaign; but, with at least one common thread of a complaint: the undead never seem to have the undead flag turned on. That is to say, a nearly pure class cleric that has effectively wasted a feat in extra turning and charisma points to get 10 turn undeads per rest period has NEVER once turned undead in the last 5 modules for nearly a year of playing through level 16 cleric/1 fighter, and is almost level 17 cleric. That's pretty discouraging and frustrating when every time we run into undead, people repeatedly ask me "can you turn them?" and I've been burning turn undeads like mad, with no results and I feel like an incompetent cleric at that point when I repeatedly have no positive results to show for all my efforts at trying and their questioning.

For example, tonight, we walk into a room of corpses, then an implosion-like effect occurs in the middle of the corpses and duergar wraiths appear. They drain life from players during the course of several combats we have with them, yet, turn undead seems to have no effect. It's very discouraging and a waste of a feat and ability points that could have been better used elsewhere apparently.

Wonderful as always. The NPCs give us a few clues when we're seemingly lost. But they never give so much as to give away this TERRIFIC plot! LB and Starbuck have created a world filled with intrigue and thought-provoking ideas. I'm having a great time.

Starbuck joined LB as DM for this session using LB's Return to Torgan's Delve module, and it was a blast. I couldn't tell which DM was possessing which NPC, but the NPCs were very well done. The pace was great - there was some NPC interaction and RP but also great urgency to save the town and lots of combat. Fun stuff!

New to the campaign, have to say--my experience thus far is that the DMs run a very smooth game, and a tight ship. :) All questions I had were answered quickly, they were helpful and polite. Well done!

This has been a long-running campaign for me, and Lazybones is without a doubt the best DM I've ever been priviliged to play NWN with. Great at the design of the campaign and plot, at building, and at the mechanics of DMing. Gives players a chance to influence the way his world develops. Also very organized in terms of keeping the campaign running. Sometimes there are some highly challenging encounters; those who don't like near-TPKs may not enjoy his style of gaming as much, but I find this campaign has been a blast and has kept me playing NWN for two years.

It is also refreshing to participate in a campaign that lends itself to great RPing with the right amount of challenging encounters mixed in, often requiring out-of-the-box thinking. I look forward to continuing this campaign and will always apply to any of your campaigns in the future.

I've been in LB's campaign for a year now, and every week find myself anxiously awaiting the next session - what more can you look for? Well thought out plot lines, interesting NPCs, the players' actions impact the world about them - it's just all good.

Thanks very much for the time you've put into running the campaign Lazybones!

Amazing game. It is not common to have a DM that leads the whole story with such a natural touch. As a new player landing on an old group and long campaign, I was concern about how good would I fit, but LB made things so smooth that joining the game was a easy process. The character I play is not so easy, in order to succeed requires close collaboration with the DM, which was done in an elegant manner, making me fell that my character was really alive. Thank you for the opportunity; it was one of my best games.

The game started out slow with several crashes and similar server problems, but it turned out to be something in the starting area(a conflict of some sort of scripting) and once it was resolved the game flowed quite smoothly and was one of the funnest I have been in.

It's hard to review this game when we've only just started, but it appears to have a promising beginning. I like the Asian theme of the campaign and look forward to exploring more of this setting. Once again, I appreciate the challenging aspect of your modules which gives one a sense of accomplishment...not only in the monsters that the players face, but also in the environments that we interact in.

I was in awe inregard to manipulation of NPC. There were seven of us PC and at one point at least 5 NPC all in conversations...wow. I have RP'd with many DMs...the DMs of this mod have set my expectations high.

For some reason this was one of the most fun sessions we've had recently. Maybe it was the fact that what we ran into wasn't part of the main plot and thus surprised me, maybe it was that we had only 4 players (usually I like games with more players, but who knows) but this just seemed like a real fun game for me. Nice work, Lazybones!

Absolutely a great campaign! Been going for several months now, and with (supposedly) a year to go - and already I am saddened by the possibility of it being over at some point. All tens for a reason - and not just to suck up to the DM :)

Once again another great session, LB your abilities to run our group never cease to amaze me, you've been doing it for over two years and are still going strong!! Forrestwolf, outstanding mod to NWN, Firefly provides a whole new environment and extends the life of the game. Well Done!

An amazing end to an amazing campaign. Your use of scripting and other unique features is phenomenal, and your creativity, fairness and steady hand as a DM put all others to shame (and I've played with most of them here at one time or another). Really, Oscar-winning stuff in multiple categories. It's a privilege to play with you. - Mulu

Even though I was a new addition to the group this session I fell right in with help form you and had no problems getting into the game. Other than a messed up hak problem the game ran great. Nice work and I can't wait till the next game.

Sorry, there were no 11's to click on. This game was awesome. The NPC's were the best I've ever seen in rapid fire massive barrage of characters that WE got to deisgn for OUR town that we got to create. I felt I knew everyone and every place for the last year; when it was just a simulated year and we'd never seen the NPC's in action before. Tonight was the premiere of the changes made to The Homestead that we were gifted for saving a nearby city last chapter. I was astonished at how incredible the place came alive under Lazybones.

As we conclude Drums of War, I thought I'd leave a review. This campaign has been a blast and Lazybones even got me to give the toolset a try. For those enjoying challenging combat and plenty of near-death, sometimes veering over into actual death, experiences in a role-playing setting, I can't recommend LB as a DM highly enough. Great NPCs, actual participation in the development of the world, lots of subtly and less subtly modified monsters - it's all good!

Once again, this is classic LB. it takes me back to my good 'ol days of P'n'P gaming.

I need my fix every Sunday and Lazybones' has the game, roleplay, NPCs, plot and more to fill it.

Another great Lazybones' one-shot mod. I just HAD to play it! The scene with the zombies was outstanding, edge-of-the-seat kind of stuff. Thanks!

Thanks Lazybones. Awsome adventure and great DMing. It a good job keeping the pace up while still allowing roleplaying. Hope I can play in another of your games!

This was an extremely fun mod, with some very challenging combats that threatened to overwhelm our somewhat disorganized party. (Only somewhat disorganized -- with a few more sessions under our belts I think we'd make a pretty cohesive team eventually!) The monsters/enemies were refreshingly new and challenging as well. The plot was very interesting, in particular I liked how we only managed to find the appropriate threads through exploration. Though these devices did seem to lead us to the solution, rather than making us piece together a puzzle, I suppose in a one-shot there can't be too much foundering in the interest of time...! Some of the little details and clues gained in the beginning were not fully explained, i.e., the wounds on the mad boar and the ox from the caravan, but this hardly detracted from my extreme enjoyment of the adventure. Well done!

Lazybones is aptly named (and in a very good way). Lazybones was able to set up 7 people in short order, give them the hook and story and after that, flow through the entire game reacting specifically to our actions and never forcing movement once. He was very attentive to the players throughout and runs his own modules with practiced precision.

A solid one-shot module with many exceptionally creative elements -- perfect for newbies and experienced gamers alike. The DM was creative, patient, and alert -- running a smooth, professional game that was enjoyable for all. The puzzles were especially fun with many math subreferences.

Great job Lazybones! As my first multiplayer NWN game, it was easy to get into, fun to play, and you provided all the hints, comments, and suggestions at appropriate times. Really appriciate you helping introduce me to NWC on taking the time to help newbies get a feel for it. Everything from providing a newbie fact, to explaining the rules, to going over in-game chat channels. Like suggesting that we should all switch to Party chat channel in the lower left. Sure, would have figured it you, but it was nice to know the DM was willing to work through a newcommers difficulties. Great mod and great adventure!

At the conclusion of the Torgan's Delve campaign, I have to say LB remains in the top 5 DM's I've ever played with. Great storyline, highly challenging combat, lots of traps. If you like a game where the DM pushes the party and concocts plenty of tactical challenges, LB is the DM for you.

Lazybones...Great job! I enjoyed this campaign quite a bit. The NPC's were incredible, well fleshed out characters. The storyline was good, I can see how this was one of your earlier modules by the simplicity of some of your scripts. ex- the 4 pillar door! As we pulled the last lever we all held our breath for the big deal and all we hear was....

05/02/04 10 10 10 9 10 10 10 10 9 9
Once again, the highlight of my weekend. LB is meticulous in his preperation and planning when creating a module, and it shows, as the game is flawless.

As for Dming, LB once again showed his patience with our hapless band of do-gooders, creativity, sense of humor, an pacing. Some games try desperately to acheive an epic feel - for LB, it happens organically. I can't wait for the Shards of Malice!

What can I say? Another great adventure comes to a close. LB, you never cease to amaze me, you continue to come up with great material week after week, whatever the source is I hope it doesn't run out. My Sunday's would not be complete without your games! - egpaul

Very nice game. Good mix of fighting and puzzles, though the last puzzle did kick me in the rear a bit. I remember trying to walk on the giant chessboard and getting stunned...I had a blast in this game. Definitely would play with Lazybones again, and will look out for any more games DMed under him.

This was a fun little romp for a one night stand.. The players were into it, and I would generally look forward to other opportunities to play with them. The DM kept everything on an even keel, even when faced with those inevitable (but still only occasional) script glitches. If only he ran a campaign... (which is what I'm looking for).

This was the concluding game in "phase 2" of an ongoing campaign, and I just wanted to leave a comment that Lazybone's has done and continues to do a great job. In the game notes LB indicates that the game is oriented at players who prefer to RP in an action-oriented and challenging team framework, and this campaign has worked exactly that way. LB has been great in creating believable NPCs and running challenging and fun sessions. There is a fair amount of structure to the overall campaign, in that there is a definite storyline and sequence of challenges to surmount, and within that structure there is room for a fair amount of individuality and character development.

I'm looking forward to Torgan's Delve ("phase 3")!

Excellent game LB. We could use a bit of work on our tactics, and some time to gel socially - but that's just what you provided! It was an excellent idea to work in a side-quest for the first outing, it gave us a good chance to get organized as a group. I'm most certainly looking forward to the campaign!

As always Lazybones raises the bar higher for each and every game! I look forward to my one D&D fix a week and LB brings it to me and more. On the fly roleplay as well as thinking makes him the best in the biz. I was not sure where Noose would be going in his career, but with LB providing the adventure hooks and excellent NPC, monster, landscape, and more it brought to me a new way of playing that I have enjoyed immensely. Looking forward to more travels with this group!

Legends of the Sword Coast is one of teh best campaigns of the already outstanding Builder and DM that is Lazybones.

The episodic plot was engaging and a heck of a lot of fun and the combat was hard without being overwhelming. A++
