Beautiful and intriguing module design. It was fun watching the headmistress try to deal with Jenny; I'm not sure she succeeded. My character was unsettled and a bit overwhelmed by the strangeness of the bog setting. It will be interesting following the trail of getting x object from y NPC so we can get s object from b NPC, and finally return with c object.

Session marked the end of the party's quest for an audience to the white lady, and now hopefully some answers await them.
You have to wonder how helpful this seemingly whimsical and chaotic lady will be.

Wow. Just, wow. This session was about roleplay and story, but it certainly wasn't dull - the visuals were stunning! (Even using a fellow DM as a target for spell effects ordinarily unable to be handled in that way!)
...but I -so- have to find out what was used for the stary void.

Now I did say the White lady was a victim, not a...patient..I did have fun tormenting Angus :) LRP

It's a great campaign, with great players and great DMs, and I honestly have trouble finding faults with it. If I had to say anything even remotely negative, it would have to be that I'm not sure the players have, thus far, truly come to realize just how powerful the staff of the Asylum is...
...how much like ants they are in comparison.

ahh well *sighs* the asylum claims another of us, hopefully not forever. What's interesting is who and the how it was done!..in and of itself a revelation, as was how powerless it indeed was! Meh? as for Peep, we're standing around entirely to much, these grown ups need to think less and act more and quickly from the gut or heart. *grins* that's how kids do it. good one fellows.. each time Peep starts to learn a little more about who and what she is. And the fact daddy and Thal have so much trouble accessing the place.. interesting! I don't think we're in the physical or a physical place so much, but the illusion of us being in a physical place is there..LOL but in RL I journey oft to India, and have a different prespective on things :) LRP

Well thankee fellows your efforts and thought are always evident and appreciated. You had one of a dm's worse situations.. a split party where all the action was taking place with the other half there. No fault of yours that, to be sure, cause it is the nature of the one that made the suggestion to split to basically not give a shit about who he indeed order to stay behind..anyways Peep figures maybe someday they'll quit listening to him, though adults are very slow learners.. better luck next time eh LRP

One more session in one of the most memorable and unique campaigns around. This week: Disturbed Elves, very bad spies and evil black death that slithers all over rocks. Did I mention how much I'm loving this? High-class entertainment, from a group of merrily sadistic DM's. Excellent.

The pacing was good this week: you kept us moving nicely, and began to turn up the tension with the shift between day and night becoming more apparent once again. I liked the bookcases too, that seemed to work really well. It's a shame that the combination of problems at my end and the previous gaps between games prevented me from getting into it as I usually do, but another session or two like this one and I'll be right back there. :)

This was an excellent session of what promises to be an excellent campaign.
I enjoyed the way the orderlies were roleplayed as extremely stupid near automatons focus on their assigned tasks, how they would get stuck when their clothes caught a nail on the furniture and such. Makes one wonder how well this place can run, though.
The nurse with her mouth sewn shut was also delightful in a morbid sort of way and the strange forces that works under the cloak of invisibility and behind the walls were very nicely done aswell.
The design of the areas with placeables, lighting and sound did alot to make one feel in a an old haunted asylum, which was great and with the above mentioned NPCs and 'ghosts' it really worked to create a mood appropriate to the setting.
Overall great work to both designers and DMs.

Another great session. Great NPC and module work. I enjoyed exploring the infirmiry very much, and can't wait to find out more about the asylum, and it's cast of twisted characters.
My only gripe is that with the standard /tk channel party dialogue, it's easy to miss information, however it does add to the immersion of the game, and also let's us talk behind other's backs.

An amazing concept and extremely interesting mise-en-scene. Meaning it's as much fun practically as it was supposed to be theoretically. Too bad the NWN engine can't really show the shifting walls, the lurking shadows or the flickers of light that we experience. Although even so, my imagination is really fed yummy goodies :) I don't know if anyone can understand what I said, but bottom line is I love this campaign so far, even though it will likely take FOREVER. (even better) Great job, guys. Luv you all, Anya.

This was a great game with the right atmosphere. I loved how the DMs used tells to build fear, tension and a mark of madness in the group. Excellent stuff. The few NPCs we encountered did lack personality though in my opinion. Perhaps that was IC for them but more emoting would have been nice. All in all, a very fun game!

This was one of the most memorable games I have ever played. The atmosphere in the asylum was spot on, the characters were colourful and expertly played. The DMs were always attentive to the players, and fair in all matters. The equipment we recieved was completely in context with the situation and the whole game ran without a hitch.
Easily a candidate for my top 5 DM list, an oustanding session.
Thanks for running this.

I loved the atmosphere, I loved the focus on roleplay, I loved the plot, the npcs and the design. Overall it was a great game although it felt to me like some players got more attention than others and the challenge wasn't as tough as I expected, though I guess it was just the first session - getting warmed up and all. I am looking forward to the next session.

A great first session. The NPCs were brilliantly RPed, and the environment brought to life with touches such as carefull attention to lighting and custom music.
I did find this first session confusing at times, but you mentioned that was your intention, and no doubt things will become clearer as we progress.
I'm really looking forward to seeing more of the Asylum, and can't wait for the next session.

*looks at the row of 10's* Hmm, well, I guess that's a fair review, seeing as I can't fault you on anything! :) You're hard-pushed to keep up with BoPeep for outright shock-horror value, but the slower, more insidious nature of the Asylum's psychological horror works at a deeper level I find. The best bit of that adventure by far, however, was the chest - I thought that was hilarious! (Shame that my character was feeling thoroughly freaked out at the time and couldn't appreciate the Terry Pratchett-esque nature of the situation. ;)) I also appreciated the total lack of DM input once underground, as that really added to the sense of isolation - a good move on your part.

Finally, a little combat action! Just the right amount in the campaign to make things interesting. I don't know how much praise I can heap on the DMs that I haven't already in my past reviews. Amazing plot! As usual, life like NPCs. It just downed on me this session how much I enjoy the opening music. Nice

Unbelievable! It honestly defies words, and no rating system in the world could describe it. The mystery, the horror, the illusions - basically a dabbling of fear mixed with an enigma of smoke and mirrors. Only a group of talented individuals like Death & Co. could leave me sorting through the bits and pieces, trying to tie the ends together even hours after the session has completed.

Great use of the maze to add the earie feeling of walking in circles. This session had a morbid 'Alice and Wonderland' feel to it with all of the strange places and happenings. Splitiing the party up... Spooky, spooky! That over the shoulder view works wonder when your alone with creepy rats the size of your boot.

Another amazing game. Atmosphere was truly realistic. When Nurse Anne caught us we Dolt my heart sank with the expectation of having to return to my cell. The transition to Cell Block E blew my mind. I was never expecting the exterior scene or illusion? NPCs are as creative and realistic as I've seen. The talk chat fits perfectly and I'm glad everyone decided to keep it. This game is definitely heading for one of my Top 5 best DM'd game slots.

11/10 for the NPC's, actually - they were great! Each one was definitely unique, each fitted perfectly into the game, each was thoroughly freaky. Definitely one of the best games I've played in. You guys are very good at conjuring up an atmosphere of dread: it makes a (pleasant?) to play in a game where you really do fear for your character's life. And, like any good horror story, I'm nervous about what comes next, but I *have* turn the page to find out...

well boys good game there, yeah knew we were'nt going to find a way out first game hee but figured that anyone and anything was better than waiting for nurse Ann. to bad tha others didn't keep going, bo peep would have except for the warning don't venture alone *grins* but takes one to know one and she's got nurse ann's number. Loved the rp with girly girl as I called her..and so it's daddy's friends patrolling the corridors at night, how sweet, hope dracul is enjoying the family reunion guys..:) "five six..gotta pick up six" what's left of him.. *storks nurse ann's thigh" what beautiful soft white skin you have..not really suggestions I would make actually, thought everything made great sense start to finish..you did give us a way to make a start, after all with the key, and when we didn't well..as bopeep says about nurse ann..LRP

I have noo idea how you guys managed to do this one! There's all these players, all over the map..running everywhere.. the hunters a much more evil group as a whole than the hunted hee..the hunted, trying to get what they need without being evil about it (which is darn hard let me tell you!)...then there's dark anya with the twins, malachi and Pilgrim misplanting info on the monestary.. and you fellows picking up on all that.. accomidating all of it for us! I honestly don't know how you did it!. Because it was smooth, and seemless, and coordinated, and as if one person were dm'ing it.. not all the ones of you there! You did a great job, I don't know how you so coordinated everything :) but you did...and yeah to bad zax didn't get to that dragon...LRP

Finally, I got to play in a Death & Co. game. Was about friggin' time! And what a fun fun time it was! Loved everything, and the fact that the DM's were right there all the time and never let us go around alone (though we all split up like rabbits in the hunt). Anyway, NPC's were very believable (especially the two twins - haha) and everything ran smooth and seemed almost like a race. Loved it.

Definitely an intense RP experience! I'd recommend the adventure and the DM team running it to anyone thinking of taking part. I guess I'm (unfairly) as hard on the DM's as I am on myself: I expect much more from you than I do from the players, and in this game you delivered. Great job!

Great game you guys, and for me probably a splendid challenge in that I am such a verbally oriented player, rather than the most skilled of fighters.. The warden and the tasks he set for me, could not of been more daunting, challenging and fun to play! I really thought I'd ever ever learn vic's town or Isengir's age, the other two being very easy. You did not overwhelm her, but sure thought she was dead there, the encounters not overwhelming, if I stayed calm and thought it through, and it is hard not to panic.. when you've no arms, guards right behind you, stink beetles to the front of you and a giant spider blocking the exit.. I had a blast, but then it played to.. the tasks what I feel I do best.... thank you for that! LRP

Though the game started late. I still believe that the experience was excellent overall. The DMs dealt well with technical problems and got us going regardless. The entire adventure was edgy and my heart was actually pounding for some of the sequences. Death & Co. is the way to go my friends. Excellent job!

Once again, a pleasure. Well-drawn NPCs, solid DM skills and an interesting plot made for a fun three weeks. I think the module designer has a different idea of what constitutes "too obvious" from the players, though.

A more relaxed DM style and a relaxed game pace has given some room for the characters to grow - it's made the game more entertaining for me, as a player, and hopefully you too, as DM's, are enjoying the rewards. Thank you both.

Yet again.. great, spectacular.. etc, etc etc.
Playing this module again with these guys is great fun as many little things have changed, and playing from a (very) different point of view and different alignment, made it nearly a completely seperate game.
Excellent NPCs as always, and this time I could see the big rocks.. huzzah!

I've wanted to join a game DMed by the dynamic duo of Dark Anya and Playmate for sometime now and I am pleased to say that I was not disappointed. The NPC's were lively and charismatic, the setting was great and although the plot was a little slow to develop, I can sense something greater from the tight development of the plot. I can't wait to play the second half and hope its not my last game with these two great DM's.

When I saw these DMs throw up this 2 shot game, I was like whoo hoo!!, it's hard to get games with experienced, creative DMs as a relatively inexperienced online NWNer, because they are in great demand.
I was not disappointed in the least. I'm really looking forward to the 2nd part of this two shot adventure.

An inventive and interesting sesion, if somewhat dark and treacherous, the 'crawl' along the precipice in the night was involving - though the 'webs' during spider attacks made the clif edge all the harder to discern!

A great ending to a great game. Most of all I really enjoy your way of DM'ing, I felt we're basically free to do whatever we like during the game, if we are willing to face the consequences. The great team you two make! That's one of the main reasons I look so much forward to our campaign.

Well done again guys. An excellent game throughout.
I have, though, lowered the score for NPCs and challenge slightly as we gained too much Xp from a few spiders (but then that was the fault of our slow group taking an extra session to finish it) and because there were so few NPCs left by this session.

WOW! I really didn't think the first session could be topped but... WOW! Absolutely incredible. The game had the best plot I have ever experienced. It twisted and turned, and I was never bored. The DMs worked, again, perfectly, with colourful NPCs and brilliant little nudges for our group in the direction it was supposed to go in.

Overall, to be absolutely honest, a (couple) of very enjoyable sessions - if a little unfulfilling at the close *sighs* I guess it was getting late and we 'wrapped up' in a hurry. Plots were many and convoluted - I swear (at times) we weren't all playing the same game! Thanks :)

This is a very atmospheric and engaging module! It's all about atmosphere, really. The plot is intricate and full of mystery, and despite our progress it feels like we've only scratched the surface of it all. I'm looking much forward to learning more about this mysterious murder. It was well organized and flowed flawlessly as well.

A superb game, the DM's handled the NPC's excellently, all of which came alive with completely different and interesting personalities.
The randomly closing doors were a bit anoying, but that what's to be expected at a haunted mansion.
The DM's also responded well ot emotes and alltogether, kept an interesting plot running nice and smoothly.

I think this was probably the most enjoyble session to date although all have been excellent. The group is working well together and the plot progressing. I'm really enjoying the character development and the opportunity given by the DM's to build on this. The mod is superb and gives us so much scope for roleplaying....I particularly enjoyed our time spent in the park. I can't thank Anya and Play Mate enough for the tremendous effort they have put in to making this one of the most entertaining games I have ever played.

Excellent game, if not one of my best! In lack of words of describing it. The DM's ran it so smoothly that I sometimes forgot it was only a game and they were actually just NPC's....

I've got to admit, this was my favorite session of this campaign so far. Just turning us loose on the city gave us a really good opportunity for some random character development... And the place was beautiful. This time we have more direction than previously - we have a clear objective, but no hurry to accomplish it. This has really helped with the 'We have to do something, and fast, but we don't know what' result we ended up with at points in the last mod, but it does not feel in any way like we are nailed down to following a linear set of plot-events. For me, this is just the right atmosphere, and I applaud you for it. The little touches impress, too... Random bystander conversations, despite being one DM down. Variable brekfast menus. Being able to ramble on about chess pieces without getting a 'what the hell are you talking about?' Tell from a DM. How you coped with Tilly's faction-destroying stealing spree I have no idea. when such things happen to me in the DM-chair, I tend to contemplate ritual suicide. You guys didn't even let it interrupt the flow of the game for the other players. - Decider *BAMF*

If I had a complaint it might be that the module is just TOO beautiful! So much detail that the 'stage' gets a little crowded and *smiles* eye-catchingly distracting!

I'm afraid our party has been hopelessly spoiled in this campaign. The DMs are fast on their feet and work with the player's ideas, and are quite nice with the occassional reminder *looks innocent*
Definitely a top pick.

This game rocked! It was very impressive right from the beginning. These Gm's really know what they are doing and work well together. They give you some real imput and if you cant RP with them you must be dead (or Undead). The other great thing is they give you ONE life, this really makes it tense and dangerous. If you succeed though you've earned it!

I have not had too much experience with this sort of DM run module but from the little exposure I have had this was by far the best. DM's seem very organised and the roll playing of the NPC were fantastic. The module had a great believable feel about it and the player were all believable and fantastic to play with. All round great effort. I'll be back for more!

Incredible. Simply incredible. The 'mature' rating game is a rare species, but when done with skill, they provide a far more satisfying roleplaying experience. The real possibility of failure, the atmosphere... Wonderful.
Now I have sung your due praises, I shall engage critic mode. Harder than usual... As I said in the post-game chat, I'd probably play a female... Three hours seemed all too short to pay each player individual attention, and I kept waiting for my 'turn' for random harassment. Some more reference to character backgrounds would be nice, too... Hey, you can have my soul if you make this a three-or-four shot. ^.^
Oh, yeah. You guys are on my Top DM list now. Because to do otherwise would be a crime.

The mod design is quite refreshing and the DM participation excellent. I really enjoyed the npc's. I think it was a good start for the campaign, if a little slow but I expect that will improve as he group gels. Lots of potential. I'm really looking forward to the next game

I expected this would be a game with a more heads on approach and different type of roleplaying (mutilating goblin corpses or eating them, painting each other in war paint, dancing war dances, pillaging and killing without mercy etc.) but in the end it was no different than a party of greenskined humans (though well roleplayed as that). I found the goblin elite way too civilized and the DMs seemed to encourage the other players who played honorable, wise orcs. I guess I just came with wrong expectations.
Otherwise the DMs ran a good game. The fights were greatly balanced, we were free to use imagination to accomplish things and the DMs reacted well to our actions.

While starting the game was done with some "login" difficulties we ended the session nearly on time.
An Orc adventure feels different and refreshing, and I was a bit surprised at the amount of loot we found. The difficulty level of the encounters was hard and we were lucky to have two chars with healing spells in the group.
The group moved forward quite quickly at times, but there was still room for RP between all the action.

A little more combat this time, but nevertheless a very fun session. The thieves were quite challenging, especially in the beggining when we were unprepared, though I still don't know if we're finished with them or not. I also enjoyed the whole part of the king's speech, finding the rune circle, talking with the half-orc prisoner, and searching for clues. Good show!

Super fun session. Remarkable NPCs (The blue elf, Skee, the one-arm halfling, the healer, the king, the vizier, uh everyone), lots of roleplaying, and the horn has finally been found! Wilgeon is sad though that he coudn't give Skee a flower personally, but he knows where to go when he has a little break. The courtesans in the castle were also very interesting.

An unexpected ending. Every time I thought I knew whodunnit, another body hit the floor. Again, excellent NPC dialogue; the boyfriend was a slimy lech and the father convincingly griefstricken and paranoid.

Very interesting session! I suppose we really made the general mad :p. Very fun. The truth remained hidden for a looong time.. and it was just really cool to find out. Very nice plot... and the dicerolling went very good as well... the passive checks also nice. I don't think there was anything wrong with this game at all... even the fights were good. And you helped me out when I needed some personal advice on the world of Faerun. Still don't know what was in the blood though :P Keep the module as it is... only change the description of that lava statue (still was wrong during this session!!)

Great session, again. Loved the module, despite some of the technical glitches. Better organization this time, though it wasn't bad before. Very good characterization of the NPCs, and again, great use of sound.
