This session, the first in Realon, was particularly enjoyable for Jonas. The DMs did an excellent job of playing to Jonas' background as a former student at the Great Academy, skillfully using in-game and out-of-game touches (NPCs who knew Jonas, revealing the map). The few minor glitches - factions seem to be a recurring problem - were handled quickly and deftly, while the story continues to move along strongly. Also appreciated the more intimate feel given to the session, appropriate for a reduced party. --Carlo

My first DM'd game and I loved it! Thanks to the DMs for all their hard work.

Simply put, a blast. A short and simple plot, but plenty of little details made all the difference. Monsters had a reason to be there, traps were clever, having DMs around allowed for real interaction with the NPC (could have kicked myself for not leaving someone with him), there was a sense of time flowing (the storm, the attacks), and we could try things and have the game (DMs) respond.

The concept of Storm-peace was neat, and made it believable to huddle round a campfire. The team worked well together.

My only suggestion for possible improvement in future DMed sessions would be to rethink the XP. I didn't really understand why we received a bunch of XP to level at one point (either start level 2 or stay level 1 would maybe make more sense? Or even out the XP along the story to level 'naturally'?).

All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable experience and a wonderful introduction to NWN online. Thank you all, StarStuff, Scorpio, Gulfwulf and Jiron! I hope you run this game again for others to have fun...

[StarStuff's reply to comment: Thanks for the XP tip! :) The big award was supposed to be because of having completed the tor... but then the party changed its mind and explored that final trap room after all, so in the end the timing of it made no sense. :P There were a couple of other things that we didn't like that we're going to change, so I think your suggestion of us not giving out such a big "end of quest" XP award and the party not levelling will be the best way round it. :)]

Very much enjoyed the experience. It was original all characters were interactive- very cool

Big Bad Dolt. What is going through his fevered mind? Jaana is proving evasive to him. But the harder the catch... What does he have in mind for Jaana if he finds her?

Perfect 10. A full group of DMs and a full group of players. One of the best, if not the best, session yet. I did not give a BIG to any player because that should go to the DM roleplaying the NPC Synthia!!!

Another great game. The party turned down Tiriel's request, for better or for worse. After having thought about it, I'd say it's probably for the better for the party.

Arawen and Starstuff showed both a mastery of the DM interface and their well-known creative talents in this session of Castellar, the final one in the Underdark. Even though the session was heavy on combat, the presence of the rather unique NPCs accompanying the party and the need for making decisions made it a strong roleplay experience as well. It is not easy to pull off the kind of scenario they did and have everyone enjoy it, so congratulations are deserved. The combat challenge level was a bit nerfed, but that's a DM prerogative. Excellent job all around. --Carlo

Excellent game once again, and a fitting conclusion to a compelling story. Shame some of the bells and whistles in the module didn't quite work correctly, but what else is the imagination for? :)

A highly enjoyable adventure, with plenty to do, some interesting characters, a compelling plot, and plenty of opportunity for creative roleplaying. Top stuff!

Over the two sessions it was quite a good module. However the ending I thought was a bit lame, in particular the attempt to get the Demon to enter the Portal. How do the characters MAKE a Demon go to where they want? I realize it wanted to go Home, but after all the attacks and the danger it presented, it was a bit much to think the characters would stand idlely by while it calmly entered the portal.

[StarStuff's reply to comment: It might have been less "lame" had we not been under time pressure from a certain player that wasn't "one for puzzles" on our first live run of a new module with a heavy puzzle element to the ending! :P Might be something to consider when you're deciding whether or not to join our campaign. But, that aside, there were a couple of technical issues with the module that made the overall effect work less well than we'd hoped, and it's a shame that they impacted so much on your enjoyment of it.]

Despite a couple of minor problems (which were fixed quickly) I really enjoyed this session. I thought the plot had some good twists that were fun to discover and that the areas were generally well designed. The NPCs were also good and acted as you'd expect them too under the circumstances. The way our wizard was singled out and used by the beast also worked quite well and gave us something to roleplay off of. I also thought that the ritual at the end was a good way to close the module and it worked very well that we were ported back to the ship instead of having to walk.

I had another idea regarding the paint. It might be nice if there was more than the two jars/buckets of it. Perhaps you could include other colours aswell, maybe even place them some where else in the ruins.

Finally thanks for running this game I had fun playing in it and I'll be looking forward to next time our paths cross.

Cheers

A really memorable, thrilling and surprising adventure. Both DMs did an excelent job. Even though there was a small server-related problem near the end, that messed it a little bit, StarStuff and Scorpio managed to recover quite fast from it, thus not depriving us from our climatic end.

I thought this was a very well desdigned module that was actually quite fun. The storm on the ship was very nicely done, and the ruins had a very spooky and dark feel to them. I am looking forward to the next session!

Excellent stuff. A fantastically compelling adventure, with some excellent twists and turns. It also ran very smoothly without a single hiccup (apart from the server crash right at the beginning, but that was before we'd done anything!)

Excellent scripting made this a very atmospheric mod that it was a lot of fun to play in. Plenty of scope for RP within the plot too, and some nasty surprises for the party. Interaction with NPCs was well-managed, organised, and characterisation was very good also. Hats off to Star and Scorp!

Am very much looking forward to next week's conclusion :)

You could tell that a lot of effort had gone into the design of this module. The interiors and exteriors alike was full of detail and that always makes it more interesting to explore. The scripting also enhanced the experience and helped a storm at sea to become one of the best scenes in the game session. The beast also seemed to work very well with its great speed and overpowering force.

The DM's did a good job with their NPCs and tried to get around to answer all that asked question of them, although that can be difficult when you have 3-4 people talking to them at once. Tells were also used at appropriate times and the area description (might have been scripted) were good, too.

All in all a good session and I am looking forward to the conclusion.

Both DMs displayed great technical ability, the game went smoothly and the special FX were fresh and well pulled.

As was expected, both portrayed the NPCs making them unique and memorable.

The plot was one of the refreshing things, and although the game hasn't been split right after a climax (looks more to have been just prior to one), I'm sure it has left all of us, the players, wanting more.

Again, a marvelous game. Thank you for giving us so many chances, even though we should have died more times than I'd like to imagine. I will miss this group.

Congrats to our great DMs: StarStuff, Scorpio60 and late addition Elenjay (yes I think I saw some of your interventions). And congrats to my fellow players... guys without your great roleplaying if would have been only half as good.

Now we know.. what happens when CG meets LG and LG has a mouthy paladin, and CG has a mouthy Cleric and crazy ranger :)..this is gonna teach me to see who's actually signed on to the game LOL.. what a surprise hee...in the shock of it totally lost track of the plot(not your fault mine I'm saying)..and it wasn't helped by Bel going off the deep end, meaning tending him, and the endless rp on the buidling a damn boat...*shakes head* we were lucky to finish this one hee...I take it us in the row boat, made it out safe, and Bel and Ben lived forever stuck together on that isle, which is all things considered, suitable karma for the both of em!   Nice start. In-depth roleplaying, both on players and DMs sides. Olbo's interpretation? superb... one of the most memorable moments. And all NPCs in general where almost alive. Can't wait to see where it all leads...

I enjoyed this game very much. It was a great first experience and we can only hope following sessions flows as well (without beetles: part 2 glitches, that is...)

This was my first game with a DM (DM'S). I had a great time. I really didn't know you could come as close to the PnP game as far as roleplaying goes! I have played NWN since it came out but have never enjoyed it as much as this experience. I really want to get involved with frequent games and or ongoing campaings. The other players were great too. We really worked well together.

01/20/05 8 9 10 5 10 7 5 8 5 7
Loads of fun. We (the players) had a few unexpected ideas and the DMs responded beautifully and kept things running smoothly. I would gladly play again with everyone, dm and player alike.

01/19/05 7 8 8 9 8 8 8 10 8 8
Session ran quite a bit later than posted which caused a conflict for some. I think it would've been better if the dm's had had the server up and running early so players could've created characters before the posted gaming time. A lot of the games I've played in have done that and it saves more time for the adventure. I came about twenty minutes early with the thought of doing this and instead had to sit and wait for the rest of the people to arrive before I could make my character. As you had two DM's for this event, I don't see why you couldn't have had one in the chat and one in the module to handle early arrivals.

[StarStuff's reply to comment: It would have made no difference. We had set a cut-off point for the last player to arrive, and they showed up at that time to the second! So, the party were going to be late no matter how early we had opened the server. *shrugs* As for how late it ran: heh we tried to hurry you guys along with monsters and tells at every opportunity, but you were too busy having a whale of a time roleplaying to take the hint!]

This was Starstuff's first real DM'ing experience and she did an amazing job IMO. There weren't a ton of NPC's, but the ones were well played and she added a sense of imagery and how it would feel for my PC, which helped and was an added bonus to a blind PC.

Another good effort by Starstuff and Scorpio. Although the module wasn't as fun second time around, you guys still did an excellent job by adding variation here and there. Thank you for an entertaining experience.

They do a great job DM'ing a game. It moves smoothly with few problems(except for the ones us new players cause) and is a great way of learning the ropes. Shame it is only a one shot in order to learn the ropes as I enjoy it very much.

The game was designed for trainees, (and I certainly am a newbie to MP) and it was effective for that purpose. Our little pack of adventurers wasn't very good, as could be expected. I liked the experience, nevertheless, and really look forward to more training and more MP game playing. Just wish we'd got our little fannies in gear and went after those goblins, instead of standing around sucking our thumbs as much as we did! And I HATE running around in the dark! :o) Ha Ha

A very enjoyable game, I thank you all. Pure magnificence how you managed to get all the NPCs really involved with my character, it made the whole game feel more like it 'fitted' with Pierre, if you get my meaning. It's a shame that usually resulted with the NPCs coming away with a bad impression of Pierre, but hey, those are the kind of results I strive for.

An excellent adventure, well run by the DMs involved, from start to finish. Some glitches in the module design caused one or two minor problems including not receiving quest EXP and rewards (and an inadvertent death of the whole party at one point!) but these were not the DMs' fault.

NPCs had distinctive personalities and were played very well and consistently. Responses to the players' actions and the things they said were excellent also.

A fab game, especially considering they are self-confessed

Game was only late in starting while waiting for an errant player.

[StarStuff's reply to comment: The joys of DMing for new players: someone was late to join the game and we decided to wait for them because they were new, and yet I end up getting a bad mark for it... :( Ho hum.]

Even though this was my first Multiplayer NWN game, and I don't have a lot to compare it to, I can honestly say that I had a lot of fun. StarStuff, Scorpio, and Le Frog were all excellent and kept the game moving well. This was an excellent learning experience for a newbie like me!

A great game from some fine DM's. Well-balanced and fun. Hands down the most organized group of players and I think that was mostly due to your pre-game info and organization. Encouraging the players to work out roles prior to starting the game was a great help in my opinion. I would have preferred completee NPC posession, especially with three DM's, but it was still a good balance between scripted and nonscripted interaction. The attention to detail regarding the group composition is also appreciated - making sure we had the right people for the job kept us from getting our butts kicked. :)

A good start to what looks like developing into a great game. The DM's let the players settle in and work on their characters while edging the plot forward. K.
