Here's your review, all zeros. Um, preceded by ones, of course. I have reviewed every week, I think. I have noticed since I won the monthly award, I get about 6 reviews a month now, no more BIG's. Oh well. Mac

Excellent game just wished we did not get creamed by baddies as much.

Very captivating game. I enjoy the threshold of normalcy we pretend to exist in. With corrupted everywhere, we try and stabilize a city in its last death throes. To leave the relative safety of the guards' HQ, we risk death at every step. To run from battle is a given, to return limping and distraught, expected. To venture out again, unthinkable, yet we talk about finding the lost soldiers. Supplies are at a premium, weapons are being collected for unknown reasons. I think everyone is in agreement, 'it ain't looking good'. Great game, keep it up, I'll be there waiting for the next session.

Never played Bioshock, so I don't know how close it is. It is fun so far, a little too high tech, or could be if we get guns. I wonder where we are going with this game. I thought it was survival horror, now I'm not so sure.

Great game. I like how this is playing out. We are forced to rely on each other in order to survive. The traps were a bit much though. Jeesh, I got to the point that I didn't worry about dying so much as getting through the traps as fast as I could. However, one big trap and I may have been dead with no raise scroll around to save me. And what was the big deal about the staff. It didn't seem all that powerful, nobody knew I had it, yet when I mentioned it in the OOC room, all of a sudden Fen had to have it. ???? She must have missed me asking Carter to try and identify it for me on the beach when we first met him. Anyway, good game.

Eventhough the party was totaly splitted, you managed to keep it going quite well. Even as Rik had the most heavy duty to repair that panel ;) and sat alone with NPC's most of the time, I never had the feeling of being left alone. You showed me some nice roleplaying from your side. For me it was a full roleplaying session, what I don't mind at all. Good Game.

You know we all adore that tileset. It feels good to be playing in it once again.

It is also great to be doing a good old dungeon adventure :)

I like the idea of the (unnatural) darkness attracting certain evil creatures to Cathyr. Great plot you had setup back there, with the High Dawnlord just arriving to aid us.

Wish us luck, whenever we return to vanquish those vampires...

I love how much attention you pay to the ecology of the region and how you use it to draw out possibilities for rp-and-dungeon-crawling goodness. I hadn't thought about how the nigh-perpetual darkness that has fallen over Cathyr might effect the region, and it becoming a draw for unsavory creatures of the night is an excellent and thoroughly logical extension.

I enjoyed the return to the Maarlith Mire and the exploration of that dark place - you hit the atmosphere/mood quite well with that tileset and music/sound effects.

The ruins were good, aswell, a good little dungeon with a creepy feeling to it. It has been a while since we did some more old school "dungeoneering" so that was fun.

Will be good to return and make ashes out of the rest of those vamps ;)

Several server crashes and disconnects marred this otherwise fairly entertaining session. Another initial problem with starting merchant inventories being somewhat limited, but DMs responded fairly promptly to get players properly outfitted. Looking forward to next session.

A fun game with a great atmosphere. the NPC's and locations were all really well done. I only have a couple of criticisms. At times it felt like no matter what the PCs did there would be the same result. So perhaps (even if it is just an illusion) allow the PCs to try out different tactics to get out of difficult situations. So they can use some of their guile and not just rely on fight or flee. But all in all an enjoyable game, Cheers!

The atmosphere of the game was excellent and, as usual, the NPCs were extremely well played. The basic concept is fresh and has a lot of potential. Unfortunately the players were not required to use much initiative or given many options. It was pretty much a case of 'follow the dots and come along for the ride'.

Unfortunately, due to technical problems, the session took awhile to get off the ground and was therefore fairly short. The NPCs were extremely well played, with distinctive and fun personalities. I look forward to seeing how the plot develops.

maybe it took some time but we finally finished with the elves...allthough that it could be fun and interesting if TyLet would join to samuel's group...

Are we going to see TyLet and his sister again? (I have to admit that for an important character the sister of TyLet (forgot her name) ain't the most important

what can I write that I didn't write before....when we came to the children village I thought the humans will only pass by but I see its much more complicated....but I see that everyone have their own reasons to go to the ruins :)....to see the children and the humans work together again in battle will be very fun....maybe each got his own reasons to go there....but I think all the paths will lead to the same place. man, the books in the libarary are so helpfull sometimes :)

I enjoy how Arek weaves in characters and elements outside of the module to create a completely new adventure. He's very good on the fly and very responsive to the odd things we as players may think up.

Arek is generous with experience, but I'm somewhat dissapointed with the availability of treasure. We're definitely playing adventurers who have fallen on tough times.

Overall a great time and great game. I'm eager to continue next week.

Besides some trouble with the hak packs and time, the game was really great and I think was the best and most balanced challenge from the DM yet.

Arek introduced us to the world of Fallout with the system of Firefly and Nightlife with elegance, rythem and 'savoir-faire'. It was a fun game, with great other role-players, and to find again the taste of the Fallout setting was simply awsome. Congratulations for a job well done, Arek.

Another good game, and though it was fun I do have a couple minor quirks. One is that even though we received a fairly proper amount of money and treasure for our work, we were not even given the opportunity to spend any of the reward money or restock our supplies before being whisked off into our next adventure (in the wild of all places). Yes, we were given some healing potions and healing kits, but that was it.

Also, the challenge needs to be reconsidered in some places. While there is nothing wrong with being very nearly destroyed, being turned to stone and saved from a huge beast by a senile old man is somewhat insulting. ;)

06/26/06 9 8 9 10 10 8 9 10 10 10
Great game, although I do have concerns over Secretsin who seemed a little rude to both Beredoc and Gavindale. Still I'm sure its just a storm in a tea cup, or whatever the saying is :) and will all blow over.

06/26/06 7 8 9 9 8 8 8 8 8 8
A fun and well run evening. I do have one minor criticism though - your assistant DM was rather rude on several occasions and even swore at a player. I don't mind minor swearing if its in character but to swear at an actual player especially over a fairly trivial matter was just uncalled for. But, that aside, an enjoyable mod, a good group of players and nice dming, particularly the npc interactions. Looking forward to the next installment....

This game just did not work for me. Other players seemed to enjoy it, so maybe it's just me. Sitting around in a dark prison cell for over 3 hours trying to make idle conversation and being completely ignored by the DM is just not my bag. I accept that the DM was busy with individual players elsewhere, but this left the group entirely on its own. Nothing that the group did made any difference and obviously was not intended to. They were simply expected to talk amongst themselves for 3 hours while the plot unfolded elsewhere.

A very nice idea!! And it was brought to life very good, maybe we were some player's too many so the wait was a bit too long, however I'm looking forward to the next session!

The NPCs were brilliant--they were hilarious, broke stereotypes (the dragon that gives -away- magic weapons to get regular ones) and improvised well (I loved the description of what the spell-book got used for!). And as before, I enjoyed the movie-like narration.

06/24/06 8 9 10 10 8 9 8 10 5 5
The final session of this game was much better than the first. The RP of the NPCs was particularly good (my hat off to the DMs for this). In fact, if I could award my BIG to the DMs, they would get it. There was also a most enjoyable battle to finish the whole thing off. A good job.

Feels rather like a step down from last sesions. The way events are handled, while inventive, end up feeling plain silly sometimes and the way certain events just seem to be skipped doesn't exactly help the overall feel of the game, either. It seems to me like Arek would need a CoDM to accomplish all he wants to do.

06/20/06 10 10 10 10 10 10 8 10 10 10
Well it certainly was different today. ;) Arek did a fine job of handling a couple glitches and problems that cropped up, even substituting an end boss where needed - which was probably for the best since we were two members down in our second session.

Well done with the improvisation, Arek!

Arek always manages to take games in a direction different from what was intended, but its always a good thing!

For instance, I've admittedly played in the previous game once before, but never actually seen that key introductionary NPC -live- through the attack only to get carried around by the players!

One of the better games I've had in awhile. Great role playing by all players.

The DM was excellent in creating a story type atmosphere while at the same time keeping the action right up front.

Best balance of role play and excitement I've had in a long time.

As I mentioned, the module hardly supports eight (!) characters, considering the atmosphere and premises. Major flaw, from my point of view. The pacing caught on very early, which was good, but the communication between us all didn't seem all that engaging. It occasionally felt like a circus, really. With a stronger coordination and more involving storytelling, though - this'll turn out good, seeing that the progressing story is quite compelling.

I think the game was a bit too easy, what with all the DM-raises and such. I know, it was a new group without good tactics, and those orcs do damage once they hit, but a solution to this would be to give out more healing kits and the like, and let the players fend more for themselves. It will enforce more tactical play.

Trying to make the mod more challenging without making it impossible is a difficult thing, though, I know. I just got the feeling somehow that no matter what stupid decisions we'd do, we couldn't die, and that shouldn't happen either.

But these are only the bad things. The rest was awesome. This really is one of the better games I've participated in. Keep up the good work. ;)

I had a good evening and felt that this 3 hours of gaming I devoted from my time today was not a mistake! Great start for our new campaign!

Arek kept things really rolling this time. There were only a few pauses, but they were completely understandable and manageable. Arek is a hardworking DM. I enjoy playing with him and look forward to next week.

These guys did a great job. At one point my character was bored and sitting by a fire. The DM had a rat come up to him, the RP between my Char and the rat was good. If you can RP a rat, you can RP anything. Great job.

It's difficult to judge the campaign from this game: I liked the idea of seeing an alternative point of view which would give depth to the main plot, but we haven't seen the main plot yet so I'll reserve my judgment until a bit further into the campaign.

Game was a bit slow, fortunately the interaction with the other players and NPCs were good so overall a decent enjoyment.

Note: Co-DM Sparky1479 did not show up which may have slowed up the game.

Note: This applies only to arek32, as sparky1479 wasn't there.

There were too many monsters and NPCs--it made the play slow and chunky.

It felt as if the PCs could make little difference, as if we had to follow a script. Trying on our own to find work or to track the monsters was discouraged by the DM: potential employers were asleep or an NPC told us to wait instead of track. There was a huge amount of time between each encounter, too.

I had horrible lag and after about 1/2 hour of playing, I could not connect to the server any more. However, up to that time the game was very enjoyable, DM invisible, yet had everything under control. I hope to play with him again.

The game was fun. Arek did well as the only DM for the four of us. Even when we split up he seemed to be able to keep things together.

Despite having a problem player in the group, DM ran a very good game. Even though it was not one of the best, I cannot fault him for that, since the problem player is to blame. I have enjoyed all prior games ran by this DM that I have been in, and will continue to play in his games. Look forward to the next game (hopefully without the same problem player *smile*)!

The most boring games I have ever been in. There was asbolutely no focus on roleplaying, just on asking questions and solving the mission. Often we'd spend 40 minutes at a time in one area just questioning an NPC, no roleplay involved whatsoever, just having to ask questions. The NPCs were awful and the game had few good points, if any. The plot was outstandingly bad.

[arek32's reply to comment: no comments I will not waste my keys to comment what FallenWhiteStar write. ps. Why did you rewieve Karlos_G who didn't show in game?]

The game was great, what can I say? I liked how there was this NPC there, that I had read about on the DM's campaign website (the fact that he has a website to begin with is a plus: Really helped me figure out how my character fit into the world). When I read about her, I thought:

[arek32's reply to comment: Campaign website isn't mine. This is site bnielson, who made whole Light Reborn campaign. ]

A good kickoff session, asides from one obvious and major problem. The party is simply too damn big for the one DM to handle. Asides from that, I'm sure most of the players were a tad annoyed at having their characters paralyzed for a good deal of the session. But I'm looking foward to seeing the story develop, even if the session's ending was a bit confusing.

[arek32's reply to comment: I'm looking too. :)]

Arek And Psychopomp worked fluidly together. They played the NPCs well, responded to DM questions promptly, and were flexible. It was enjoyable and I look forward to continuing the campaign.

Ran a slow game, probably would have went better if there was a co-DM. felt like too much stress was placed on DM, and game suffered for it.

[arek32's reply to comment: Comment to this and same below : Only way to keep this group together was put them in locked rooms :). Game was slow, but I had to rescue same players, who wanted to hunt for ogres and giants (1st lvl players!) and walk throught module, instead of staying with group. Next some of players were paralised (poison in dinner), so they had to lie and wait for rest of group, what could probably rescue them.]

Good dm, the flow was not smooth, but otherwise a good job...plus things were a little disorganized but you did good though!

The game was alright, some improvments i might suggest is to get Co-DM cuz you alone had some difficulty handling 6+ players. This will also help the game run smoother and faster.

The Co-DM Sparky1479 did not show up in the game.

A all around good game, but the sudden death at the end seemed unfair and poorly run.

you did a great job, considering that some players, for moments, were a bit disruptive (i'm not blaming them, i think this was one of the first games to some of them), you handle the game in a good form and im sure the game will turn even more interesting as the players develope their own characters. good show! :)

The plot developed very well till the end of the game. You handle the NPCs in a fluent style, and that Slaad was really tough. Plus, I like the way you ended the chapter, it was not the happy stereotipycal end. I think it was a great game overall. See you next time!

I loved the game especially the needs system. It sort of reminded me of the sims and it's very realistic. The weather system, the gold system, and the armor and weapon system. Now if they will find a script for a reproduction system where you can have sex and get pregnant or get women pregnant and all that. Then the module world will be perfect for the scripts and a horse hak wouldn't be to shabby either for they already have a horse hak out. That is just my opinion though.

Most exellent, even though I was distracted afk alot, the dm's explained everything we need to know. A rather beautifully crafted world considering it used standard tilesets, with beliveable characters and good discriptions. Seems the noble and ancient house Blackthrone may have found it's new home. Top marks. Will definatley play here again, till then............May you live in intresting times x x x Blackthrone

This would have to be one of the worst games I ever played in! The DM's organisation of the plot and cast of characters was terrible. The perty were to undergo a test on leaving the City Watch but were left to wander the streets wondering where to go next.

Before this DM hosts anymore games, he should take part in a LOT more as co-DM to get some idea of how to pace a story and how to introduce plot threads.

[arek32's reply to comment: WTF? Sorry, but all signs, what gnome, or npc gave you, was clear. And remember-in my games quest will not be like "go, meet, do something, get reward, return". I prefer to make you all freedom you want, but seems that you aren't ready for freedom of RP]
