There wasn't much that could be done in this game as there was only one player and the campaign was balanced for 4. I still had fun, though, right up until my character was massacred =X. Hopefully next week will see more players thus a more fun campaign.
[NWN DM's reply to comment: Agreed on the sentiment... it's pretty hard to run a game when 75% of your players are "no shows".... :(
Still, in the grand scheme of things, this might work out well for your character in the long run. Thanks for sticking with the game.]

We were short a couple players but we had a great time roleplaying and advancing the story. Great second installment -- even better than the first!

The game started late, mostly due to player absenteeism. The DM was great, but this was the first part of a large adventure. Things bode well for the future
[NWN DM's reply to comment: Late players are not a DM's fault (for example, when you have two weeks to download required files and then wait until 5 minutes before game time...). The server instability was unfortunate however... NWN2 MP requires a different approach to hosting I'm finding.]

Excellent game except for the minor instabilities to be expected when using NWN2 as a platform....
[NWN DM's reply to comment: Welcome to the reality of NWN2 MP... I'm hoping it will change in the future. Although why I was nailed for a late start twice from this game when this was the fault of the players and not me (server was loaded 15 minutes early...), I'll never be able to figure out....]

It's a little hard to fairly answer a number of these, given that we've only just started, but we're off to a very good start. Technical glitches at this point in NWN2's development are largely the fault of the game, not the DM, so I rated that area accordingly.
Overall, a good introduction to both the campaign base and the people therein. We received the right amount of direction from NPCs to keep us moving forward on the plot path. NPCs were lively and responsive, except at the end when NWN2's technical glitches started to interfere. Our one combat was challenging without being overwhelming.
Looking forward to more!

This was only the first of 3-4 sessions so we were just getting started and getting to know each other. Despite that, though, I had a great time and the DM seemed to really know what he was doing. He was quick to possess each npc as we interacted with them and he seemed to enjoy role playing with us through them. There were a few bugs and issues but I'd blame those entirely on the NWN2 engine and DM interface and not at all on the DM himself -- he did great. There wasn't much time to get into challenging situations or to really advance the story, so for what we had it was fine. The only complaint I'd have story-wise was that our very first mission for the town was killing rats in a warehouse -- entirely too cliche for the rpg genre, hehe. Nevertheless it was a good campaign opener and I'll definitely be playing in the next session.
[NWN DM's reply to comment: If you could give me a few examples of the problems with stability that led you to give a "4" in that category, I'd appreciate it (especially since this was my first time DMing in NWN2). Also, you're right about the rats... but perhaps there is more significance here than meets the eye at the present time... looking at your work in the long term plan that is....]

I was suprised at how well the DM adapted to only having 2 players instead of the expected 5-7. The module felt like a vibrant world with a history, and you could see the effects of recent events in every aspect. I'm really looking forward to future elements of the campaign, when we can hopefully get into more personalized material and really start having an effect on the world.

What a well built world this was. Not a problem or flaw to be found. I really like the power of the items, the balance, and the general feel of it.

This took me back to our old gaming group 20+ years ago. John was our DM back then, and this LAN game reminded me of our adventures against the Caves of Chaos all that time ago... amazing to find they exist in NWN as well! I'd played NWN MP before, but a visit to my old PnP DM brought about this LAN game that was amazing, even on my old laptop.
[NWN DM's reply to comment: DMing satisfied D&D players since 1980. Was great to have you and your wife in a game again... felt like the "good old days" back in university.]

Another well done game. My only minor issue to this point is that overall the treasure drops have been sporatic. Some creatures consistently have coin and or treasure while others that seemly should have none. It is a minor issue that detracts little from the game as this campaign is more about characters than fighting and looting monsters.
[NWN DM's reply to comment: I'd appreciate it if you could PM me some examples from recent games. I'm more than willing to take a look in the Toolset and if there is something that isn't tagged right to drop, but obviously should be, I'll be happy to make the change, and redress the shortfall next game.]

Wow! My first experience playing an on-line game was made great by two things: having my sister take part (also her first on-line game), and the game world brought to life by this DM. Despite being disadvantaged by only having two players show up, NWN DM was able to carry off a fine adventure which didn't overpower us, and allowed me to RP my PC the way I wanted, even with inventive use of a dicebag. I'm looking forward to other games by this DM.

This was my first MP game of NWN, having just received the game for Christmas from my husband. I simply loved the in-character banter, a full session with only one (minor) fight was not expected as a newcomer to the game. The game world compiled by NWN DM is one of great detail and well established characters. I'd recommend playing in any game DMed by NWN DM that you can. This will be a hard act to follow for other DMs on NWC.

The game this week's was a bit more chaotic but I don't think this was anything the DM had control over too much. New players getting used to each other, old faces gone. It takes a bit to gel and gelling while having gnolls hand you pieces of your butt is interesting to say the least. As always I enjoyed the facilitation for roleplaying and character development. The returning to a safe camp at night fall was a wonderful immersive touch.
[NWN DM's reply to comment: If there was one thing I could choose to improve, it would be to have more stability in group composition. Unfortunately, it is the way of Real Life to intrude every so often, meaning we can't always have the same players each week. Regardless of who shows up however, I do my best to ensure that everyone has a good time.]

The Good:
Appreciated individual RP xp awarded during session for PC actions.
A nice variety of NPCs and interaction.
A good background and backdrop with the world of greyhawk.
The situation was rather open-ended, so the party was free to go where and as they liked.
Plenty of time allowed for free form RP between party members and/or npcs.
The Bad:
Given the open-ended nature of things, newer players were a bit clueless as to what the party objectives were. While a few hints were dropped in town, leads rather evaporated once the party moved out into the wilderness. Partial blame for this rests on the more experienced members of the party though I feel, as they didn't always fully brief the others or take as much initiative as they might have.
Size, frequency and difficulty of encounters was a bit much in the wilderness. We never got beyond 2 or 3 areas due to needing to rest up, only to face another wave of encounters. At least a couple of PCs died in combat due to overwelming numbers and lack of people free to bind wounds administer healing to those bleeding, so DM intervention required to continue.
AFAIK, aside from some gp dropped by the dead, we didn't find any treasure hordes despite clearing most of one area and battling several successive waves of wandering monsters. Given the number of healing potions folks seemed to be consuming, I reckon most players probably lost money this session.
Experienced occasional lag with the server, though thankfully this was not nearly as serious as some situations in previous sessions.
[NWN DM's reply to comment: Hopefully the lag will be taken care of by my system upgrade.
Good point about the open ended approach... that is by design, especially when an adventure is joined "in progress".
Treasure troves are there, you need to find where the lair is and invade it. ;)]

The start of another adventure. Some categories were hard to access as this is a serial adventure and this was basically just the beginning. The PW I play on has me spoiled as to things that can be done with the NWN engine and area designs, but on the whole the world seems to be well laid out and done. Have not had a change to really interact with the NPC's as of yet and view their personalities.
I look forward to future adventures

Great session #4
The encounters still perfectly balanced.
I am SO glad we found the city I must say. =)
It gives the group a sense of being centered, and a place to gather. The original camp was a good start, but not quite enough. I forsee the city becoming a big part of the RP soon.

While listed as RP campaign, a few chars seem to have own agenda and seek nor listen to others input. This is not a reflection on the DM, but more on a few participants.
For two weeks running, I have tried on numerous occasions to interact with the group and been completely ignored by several participants.
Thoughtful RP seems to take a back seat to the hack & slashers, charging full ahead regardless of the consequences & opportunity for RP. A few times last eve, the battle was over before all participants could gather at scene.
[NWN DM's reply to comment: It seems that your comments are more directed towards your fellow players than the DM or design of the campaign.
A DM has little control over whether or not players choose to RP with a specific player over others, or not.
I would suggest that your reviews of other players should be given to the specific players in question, not used to negatively impact the ratings given to the DM. ]

I rated straight 10s on this game. I really enjoyed it.
You made the house *feel* eerie, and with my sound cranked all the way up, made it all the better. =)
The combat was balanced (although I did think we would wipe on that first cave encouter, though our own faults)
Each week, I try to find more ways to get involved in the story, via screenshots coming soon, game summaries, and book collecting (Vennier RP).
I wish it was Tues. again aleady, thanks John.

Had a great time ! A lot of fun. Would like to see more use of Dicebag rolls whenappropriate
[NWN DM's reply to comment: Was plenty of dicebag use going on in the game by about 50% of the players. Just go ahead and use it for whatever you are trying to do and I'll respond accordingly.]

Fun game again.
NPCs were engaging, and informative. I think for a group of 9 players you balanced combat superbly. I know for a fact that can be a challenge in itself, and potentially ruin a game.
Gold, treasure, and Xp all seemed very appropriate, it's obvious you know what you are doing.

Might have lost touch with dynamics of game due to large population. Personally, I'd prefer quality over quantity.
Prefer more inter action amongst all players/DM. Felt it last week but not this week.
[NWN DM's reply to comment: I'd say these comments are generally valid. Nine players in a single group is a lot, probably one or two too many. Combined with the fact that this session was the tail end of essentially a dungeon crawl, barely started in the last game, did not lend itself to an abundance of interaction with NPCs.]

I only got to play for a few minutes because I had problem getting the hak files installed. But, that was enough to get me hooked. Within five minutes I felt like I was kid again playing PNP. Everyone made an effort to roleplay and make the game enjoyable.

Considering that this was the first night of the campaign, and that few of the group knew each other, this was a remarkably productive and well organized session. The DM did a fantastic job of immersing the group in the adventure, and was good at nudging us gently in the right direction, rather than beating us over the head if we got off track. Its obvious that the DM has a lot of experience with NWN and ran a great session. I for one cannot wait until next week!

I gave mostly 8 across the board.
I really enjoyed the game, and had no problems in DM style or content. Since this was out first game, we turned out pretty smooth, and the DM was very fair and made good choices with NPCs.
Only thing I would prefer is to have an OOC room vendor of some sort, help sort gear prior to adventuring since I feel as if I am holding the gorup up looking through vendors. =)
Marked you as one of my top 5 DMs to date as well.
[NWN DM's reply to comment: Thanks for the feedback... I've now put in a new player vendor which can only be accessed by newly made PCs.]
