One of my all-time favourite sessions. Neat placement of backstory-character, nice mix of set-piece and ... letting us improvise. (I really appreciated you giving us time to do beyond-interface stuff during the escape.) Good to see GnomeTown again, too.

The DM tried very hard to get the game going, I would say that we had some teething problems, as this was the first session that was to be expected.
Once in the game the atmosphere was very good and I realy felt as if I was in a wintery snow filled area with a cold breeze blowing.
I look forward to the next session.
[Drengist's reply to comment: It was not my mod, I was just asked to help. Sadly the Main-DM wasnt prepared at all and seemed not to know the Client very well.

Everything seemed to flow smoothly and the DM did well keeping up with us and keeping us interested with things to do. DM was able to subtly prod us in the right direction, and all characters provided comic relief, and good drama as and when required. Everyone roleplayed well, and seemed to genuinely care about the plot. I didn't feel bored, or uninvolved at any point, so I feel that this was a very good game, despite it being my first online, DMed game.

Drengist continues to impress me, with his creativity. I'm really enjoying meeting the dwarves and seeing more of the extensive game world, and learning more of this plot that Bolg has created against the more peaceful races. ardiel

Sorry to see our game end. The RP, both with other PCs and with NPCs, was great, and the mod was definitely well-designed. I'm trying to think of some criticism, but I can't really come up with anything. Well, I guess we never found out what happened to Crazy Horse's men. Then again, we never thought to ask.
The combat was perfectly balanced. And was a little extra thrill to see you personally take over our opponents.

Best session we've had in a while, IMO. You wouldn't believe how much the music can actually contribute to the atmosphere (which in turn inspires the players to be more creative). Get rid of Wagner, though. ;) (j/k)

Neat plot. Nice pace. Very interesting dream. And the bandits "making their own order"... was cool.
My only real gripe: other bandits waiting to ambush us were spawned in? If they were... it makes scouting / detect mode a bit useless.

Had a great time in this mod. Talking to the town mayor, the waitress and the bandit leader were all very different experiences; they were well-RPed and very distinctive. The combat was challenging, but not too much so. The beginning felt a bit rushed; the PCs were suddenly together and talking to the mayor. Then again, every campaign that I've ever played has been like that, so perhaps it can't be helped. Once again, I really enjoyed this two-shot adventure and would jump at the chance to do a full campaign with Drengist.

This was a great game. I think it was nearly perfectly executed, and nowhere along the line did I get the feeling that this was out of place or wrong in any way. I can't wait to see how the plot turns in the conclusion of the module. The module itself is also great, with a nice attention for details. Names and characters etc. were all believable.

Very, very well done game! I would play with Drengist again in an instant! There were far more party problems with this game than DM. While one of the best ever for pure roleplaying - we lacked in battle tactics, and in searching clues, NPC conversation, and treasure. I really liked that the game was paused when there was a player-disconnect problem. I had no problem with the HCR on dying and resting - it was just important to know what you were getting into ahead of time, which was made very clear. For me, I would have liked party chat better. I understand, and can't argue the reasons, but mature players know not to use things they shouldn't have heard. When you spend 40 minutes in limbo, it would have been much more interesting to have heard the conversation!

This is the first NWC game I've played in so I am comparing it to closed guild games which are normally of a very high standard.
This game was really fun. I wasn't sure what to expect from being thrown together with players I'd never met, but the DM was very well organised and knew exactly what to do at all times.
The plot had real depth and kept me guessing without being incomprehensible. The developments also ensured that the party had to discuss things IC, which helped the roleplay.
The NPC's were all DM-possessed which is something I like very much. The DM also knew when to leave us to it, and didn't interrupt or hurry us when we stopped for inter-character developments.

That bit in the maze was amazing - when I first came across otherNikka in the maze I wasn't sure who was playing her, and it wasn't till I got a DM tell I clicked and ran. I think this may have been my personal favourite session of TLA so far. Obviously, the highlight for me was the continuing Nikka/Mero thing, but I liked the way the gnomes kept showing an interest and talking to them (especially when they all gathered round to listen to the argument). Incompetent gate guards were funny. And Rolina! That little toad! There was a lot going on this session, and it is mark of your DMing skill that everyone managed to feel a part of things - shire

There seems to be no limit to Dreng's imagination and creativity. Though this campaign has run for months, it always feels new and fresh and his ability to adjust the plot to player's actions is simply outstanding. I have only good things to say about this game!

Some very good DMing from Drengist and the helping dm (Tojts). Couldn't tell who was playing which npc who were all very well played. The plot is epic as it gets ie. very good and addictive. Technical side also worked smoothly with no lag or anything. I can only recommend. (Too bad about Liz's sister :P) -Tom

Another great session. There's just so much in Klenner's Betrayal that I'm not sure you'll get it to work as a one-shot. Of course, with us arguing for so long over exactly how much of a reward we would require for our town-rescuing services, then taking more time to discuss dinner plans with a cow... ;)

Another excellent game. I was actually surprised that our plans didn't fall apart, as they usually do! That last battle was too hard for us, especially with one of us missing, but you did compensate for it admirably, by pulling in villagers. I would like to see a bit more money come into our hands, as Nikka is operating at a net loss, every game. If money is to come through Moristin, perhaps he can gain it through the city somehow? As he is the hireling of Lord Ilmen and we are all working for him as well... I especially loved the interactions with the NPCs, particularly responding to the death of Budoc. Well done! ardiel

Another great session. Funny how our plans always go awry. You'd think we deliberately mess things up. It does lead to some creative and flexible roleplay on everyone's side. The story is very engaging and I can't wait to see what happens next. How will our group survive the messes we get ourselves into? ardiel

This adventure began with the PCs investigating yet another case of the undead plaguing a small village... and then took off with one of the best CAUSES of the trouble! Don't want to give away too much here... but it was great finding the tower and gruesome scene inside. There was quite a bit of thinking and RPing required, as the NPCs gave clues and hints, rather than *answers*. The DMs did an excellent job of giving each one a distinct personality (loved the little guy in the Inn) and the tension during the initial stand-off with the bandits was great. I truly couldn't tell how it would turn out - I was on the edge of my seat, my PC chosing her words VERY carefully. --- I gave a

Drengist's world gives me an illusion of infinity. There is always something "larger" ahead, in the horizon, waking a desire to progress and explore the world's diversity quite naturally. The way player's backgrounds, personalities and actions directly influences the state of this great world - despite the linear nature of the plot - is simply amazing. Always looking forward to every game! :)

As always, Drengist ran a very solid, well flowing and fun session! The story is extremely detailed and it seems, the more we uncover, the more there seems to be hidden below. Drengist may have worried that the story was too linear, but it is linear in a good way - there's never a moment where you'd rather go left when the game says right - the story sorta lures you along it's path, with subtle hints and omens, which works very well. This game is by far my favourite of all, which is why Drengist has consistently been my top1 DM.

Another good session. You could probably slow the rate of time a bit and still not affect the players much. About the only issue I had was with the changes we made last session not being reflected in this session (traps and doors), but I recognize this as a limitation of running multiple sessions of the same campaign.
The NPCs were well played overall, except for the merchant who charged almost 200gp for food rations.

A lovely game! The DM's Drengist and A* worked perfectly together to create very dynamic roleplaying discussions with the NPC. Great plot and generally a feeling off that we, the players, decided what to do next and not the DM's or NPCs. Will play with them again anytime I can!

Though i'd suspected it since we met him, the mayor of Dunbarg indeed turning out to be an enemy was nice... and i thought you handled the introduction of the replacement tank character really well.
My only slight concern was when Liz turned out to be a member of "The Order" given that to my knowledge she'd said very little to Ilmen on the matter while El has said plainly and openly that he would join when asked, yet didn't have the chance to... Still, the plot keeps thickening, and it's a truly fun game :)

Drengist is consistently my favourite DM and Last Alliance has incredible depth. Though the story is linear, the atmosphere and plot always has a firm hold on my attention, and makes it feel natural and tempting to follow along it's path. Always making me look forward to every session! Perhaps a few NPCs could have more distinctive personalities, but the main plot characters work very well, like the annoying Rolina :)
Thanks a million times for a great game!

I was immediately impressed upon appearing in the prison; the atmosphere was terrific. It's nice to see other DM/Builders that care as much about atmosphere as I do. Overall design was very good too. A few minor bugs but nothing too bad. Npc's were played really well by you and your co-dm Elbast and you reacted well to my rather odd character. Initial thoughts about this campaign are excellent. I had high expectations of your game and I wasn't dissapointed. I look forward to next week. Thanks. -Valad-

I thought the Co-DMing didn't work too well this time, though there were the nice touches - like in the inn at Dunbarg (or whatever it's called!). Stability seems to be a real issue now though - 2 weeks running with many crashes :( And this week i think we lost more than last time, gameplay-wise, because of it.

This was one of the best Last Alliance sessions yet. No combat at all (probably because of the 'jump player' bugs slowing us down a lot with crashes), which was a very nice change of pace. Drengist put in time and effort into coming up with appropriate 'visions' for each character. The Trueblood farmstead was very appropriate. Well done! m410

Loved the Bird in the cage..this campaign has little scripting, but that's what makes it as good as it is. DM is always right on top of party issues, and is right there when you need him. The balance is a little rugged on our party without a Barb or Fighter, but he's always trying to compensate for that.

This module has obviously been through some refinements and it's looking more and more polished by the session. No real criticisms this time perhaps my own expectations limited RP on a couple of occasions as the module creator increased the opportunities for RP with certain opponents. A massive improvement over the previous version I've played, and that one wasn't bad either. Lots more atmosphere really good pacing at the start and throughout. A nice flexible DM letting me import my family Armour (even though it didn't provide any particular advantage). All together a better module and a better performance by the DM. Great game, a shame daylight savings caused confusion about its start time.
Critiques...
Use the difficulty slider, he probably didn't know about it. But it controls the difficulty of monsters, and is much less noticable than killing the monsters for us. At times I felt like we didn't get to enjoy victory because we didn't really kill the bosses.
**SPOILERS A lot of things from LoTR, I liked some of them.. But others (the orcs fighting) took me out of the game somewhat. The spiders lair was perfectly okay (even enjoyable). Change the orc names and it'd be fine. **END SPOILERS
I just posted critiques because the Dm wanted them. He's by no means a bad DM, and is in my top 5 list. Keep up the good work!

another well dm'ed game from Drengist. One of the only dms I've played with who likes a good Q&A after the session. This was a good module well designed and really well dmed.

Solid foundation with some good twists. Efficient and convincing use of areas. Believable town. Evenhanded and on-the-ball management.

Imagitive, quick-reacting DM. Appropriately punished the party for too-quickly jumping to a conclusion that was false.

As always when playing your mod I simply have a load of fun, and that's what gaming is all about. You make it very easy to interact with enviorments and npcs, which I appriciate. The server wasn't very stable this time around and you can't be blamed, I guess everyone has bad luck in between. All I really can say is: Keep up the good work!

His roleplaying skills were great, and the story very compelling. Not once was I bored, the game did, in fact, keep me on the edge of my seat. Great job!

Excellent game, Drengist! I highly recommend this DM. He didn't spoon feed us, the plot was great (and I'm highly critical of plots), and we had a great time. One of the best games I've ever played.

we had some trouble with stability of the game/clients. quite regulary we got script exception errors followed by client or server crashes. I dont know whether its the hcr set which was used on the server or some version incompatibilty. This spoiled a bit the fun but I dont know who is to blame for this. The plot was quite nice, but in my eyes straight forward. maybe we missed some of the hidden ideas and motives of the NPCs but the main direction was clear without much thinking.

Very nice and warm dm. Would help us devolop solutions that the engine doesn't support.
We ran the adventure with 3 players instead of 4, and no cleric (he left early) so the game was hard at the end, and the DM did ... help us... maybe a bit too much sometimes. I have the feeling we did mistakes that we should have paied more for (like disorganised attacks, and rushing into a room of archers).
Very interesting game.

We didn't really know what to expect at first... We started naked and got spawned into a prison. One of our thieves managed to escape and freed us all. The rest you'll have to witness yourself :). But I must say that the game really got alive and kickin'. I was pushing the DM really hard with my chaotic bard. And he reacted very well. What else can I say... Not a bad run! I'd like to thank the DM and players for the good time and hey... wait. CYA monday

Game was late to start since all players did not show up in the announced time. Still worked out beautifully.
A nice balance between action and problem solution.

A good game despite the problems with HCR and the faction system. The faction problem is easily solved by moving all the wild animal into a seperate faction from the commoners. The HCR problem is harder to deal with, maybe a switch to the simpler TTV system is the best option.

Definately one of the better builders and DMs around. A very well built module, with a heavy load of slick new ideas, very nice custom items and monsters. He also learned much about HCR during our game. Has to work a little about the NPC interaction, but a really, really good game with lots of fun and an really well built module. - Shinji -

Great game. Your NPC's could use a bit of work, but that's the only negative I could find! Your imagination is well suited to Dming, keep it up!
