Reviews To Date for Play Mate

Great Roleplaying. I realy like the way you play your char.

Toran lives in his own little world most of the time. There‘s always a lot of very personal RP when you play Toran and I like this because it makes Toran much more alive. You got rid of the annoying bird ann the wizard, and so now we can finally be back to buisness. But will things ever be the same with everyone around you using magic in one way or another?

Been a long time since i‘ve done reviews, but here it goes! Toran is always off in his own little world seemingly careing little for much else besides gold and whatever is in his contract. He is indeed “blissfully oblivious“ as has been said before. This session was no different ;) He doesn‘t think much about the consequences of his actions as was the case when he nearly attacked the counslor in the castle! Good thing Tarm was able to charm him, who knows what would have happened otherwise. The Argueing with Ghaldars bird was another memorable moment- one I maganed to capture in a screen shot:P (check Jonas‘ website, its there!). All in all, Toran did an EXCELLENT job of being himself this session. Truely a session and character I will never forget. -webhead (NOTE: have decided not to give BIG‘s this time around because its very hard:P Really, everyone had their moments this session and I simply couldn‘t pick just one)

Awesome roleplay. You were right up there beside Tarm in the effort to make me feel extremely bad. Awesome RP!
12/22/04
OMG, you‘re so annoying! I have no idea how you do it. You pulled some EXTREMELY IC things off today, which I think was great (if, ultimately, really friggin‘ annoying! :D). Keep it up. Or quit it. Either way, I‘m happy ;)

Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: Toran always gets himself and the group into problems, and he always seems to get away with it too. First stealing healing supplies (Urraka was going to ask to pay back on those but the even sum they received from the major kind of implied that he already deducted something), then the cat whom he wanted to sell. All the nagging about money when his money was blging over with money was fun too. Toran always adds a lot of good RP to the group. -- Virthe

[Play Mate's reply to comment: It's his charisma I suppose :)

Remember me to put ability points in charisma next time

Toran seems to like a good fight. Can‘t say I‘ve seen him so enthusiastic before about fighting. And he was prepared to go to the inn with beds before the tavern and the beer. What gives? Great to see you back after some sessions of absence. -- Virthe

Bad, bad Toran. You should know that Gnomes don‘t take alcohol too well. Anyway, was good to see you back in action after some weeks in hiatus.

I wonder if the party would be totally broke without Toran in the group. Luckily for Toran he does his job and Marcus usually sides with him. Toran does work very well in pointing out all those blunt, straight forward request for pay, beer and compenastion, which all the other characters seem to hesitate to mention.
10/14/04
Annoying and clueless as usual. But well carried out :P

Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: Another fine session finished. It was a good idea to use the “highly-magical flowers“ as a firestarter...hehe... it‘s great how you manage to irritate at least one of us all the time.

Toran was hilarious at times this session. Opening the tap and then not being able to close it, and some of the discussions were great too. BIG. -- Virthe

I‘ve a feeling that someone must have a very serious talk with Toran soon, or the dwarf will get the whole group in serious trouble. While protesting he can be trusted he‘s way to eager to wave weapons at everything and anything, and stir bad reactions from potential friends. Good RP from you, though the group seems to have a lot of external and internal problems at the moment. -- Virthe

Good roleplaying, almost to the extent of being direct sabotage against the game. Almost ;)

Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: A great session again, Toran was really at home in waroi. outstanding work! (both RP- and builders-wise ;) )

Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: Toran always seems to be so worried for his comrades. Perhaps too worried at times. With all the background work you did on Toran‘s home I think you will collect all the BIGs this time.

[Play Mate's reply to comment: It does seem so. I thank you all for the kind words and the comments on the dwarven halls :)

A good session where Toran had a chance to really stand out! It was great to see where he lived and how his house looked, and his interaction with the king was very believable. It was also great fun to be shown around in the (by the way really well-done) dwarven halls by Toran. I believe you were the best player in this session! : )

Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: Perhaps it was bad idea of Zara to “calm “Toran“ down by use of spells. To protect the party he even went to the sheriff, to have her arrested. But of course they were in “league“ with others. lol. BIG -- Virthe

Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: A great game yesterday! You definitly earned a BIG. :)
07/23/04
Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: Toran gave us some surprises this session. First he revealed that he caused the cave-in and then later on the bottle slipped from his hands. Tarm won the BIG this time around, it‘s a pity that I can‘t give two. You certainly deserved one for this session too.
07/22/04
The persistant dislike towards Zara was quite funny but also realistic. It showed me a lot about your character‘s personality.

Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: Great game. Toran was quite funny this session telling his tales and wanting to fight everything. It also seems quite standard now that Toran wanders off to explore as soon as there is nothing else capturing his mmediate interest. BIG. -- Virthe

Well then, I suppose I‘ll write out a review for you as well. :) When one of the player mysteriously dissapeared, I got a suggestion that I might want to try asking you to join. Having only seen you in action as a DM, I was looking forward to see what you‘d contributed as a player. And well, the result was the good old dwarf known as Toran. Certainly an interesting, greedy character, but still kind enough to the party. He was able to be integrated easily into the storyline, playing an important part in a quest. Your suggested storyarc was also surprising, but one that I enjoyed putting into the campaign. And although Toran does have some of the usual Dwarven quirks(a fondness for ale and gold), I have to say that a dual-wielding Fighter/Rogue is not quite something that I see every day in a dwarf. Certainly a fun addition. What I also enjoy are the little things that you introduce into the campaign. Having Toran act like a hired henchman(contract and all) is a neat touch and was a good reason why your character would continue adventuring with the party. All in all, this dwarf is a fine addition to the party, and definatley looking forward to what else he will add to the campaign. (and one of these days, I *will* add the script to the module, I swear!)

Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: As was said after the game, Toran remains blissfully unaware, but I suspect he‘s always ready to whip that axe of his out and start chopping off heads at the first sign of trouble. Yeah, that dwarf is ready for anything. Great job RPing this dwarf- I enjoy him much :) -webhead

Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: Very good session and keeping Toran IC all the time. He doesn‘t get along all that well with the others but then he is one err.. surly dwarf with his own priorities so I think that‘s to be expected. BIG.
05/07/04
Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: Toran continues to show where his priorities lies. Seems to be Gold, Ale, Food, and using his Axe. (Anything not in this list seems to be of little interest.)

Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: A great performance yesterday, Toran really came to life. No doubt about BIG, very good work, I´m looking forward to next week.

Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: Good stuff play. I really enjoy how you emote all of your rogue skills- esp the trap finding, marking, and disarming. Torans always going in with axes swinging, could get us into trouble sometime- but this time I think it could have saved us some time had we done things his way to begin with ;) BIG. -webhead

Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: RP wise you did a very good work this week as well as contributing greatly to the team. Has a soft spot for beer but not for exotic ladies, it would seem. ;) BIG.
04/23/04
Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: Having no biofile to go it‘s diffciult to review a character on a first session. Toran seemed to be a boisterous dwarf enjoying a good party, and caring more for monetary values than emotional ones. Seemed like one er... efficient dwarf to me. -Virhte

Comments in reference to the character Toran Treasure Hunter a Dwarf: Good stuff play. I love how Toran is always trying to innovate and get us out of sticky situations- even if his ideas blow up in his face sometimes! “Come on, lets get to higher ground“ riiight, and then what?? lol :P Looking forward to tonights session. BIG -webhead
