Reviews To Date for Le frog
05/23/05
What can I say? A masterclass in roleplaying throughout the entire campaign. Whether the doubts over Samuel, or the emerging relationship with Simon, the conversations were always right on the mark. There were also so many little touches - admiring a reflection in a puddle, fingering the scar. It has been a pleasure to play with you.

Comments in reference to the character Antonia Hoffman a Human: At the conclusion of The Light Reborn campaign, we see Antonia as she has become: a fiery fighter, who has learned a measure of caution; a woman of faith, who holds to the Light even when wracked by doubt; and a true companion, especially to Simon. I can easily see how Antonia would continue her path, both in service to Samuel‘s cause and sharing her life with Simon. She has reached the end of her journey and, in a way, only begun it. It was a privilege to see her fight, pray, laugh, and cry her way through the campaign. I also greatly appreciated the out-of-game contributions and look forward to the final edition of Antonia‘s journal. ;) --Carlo

Remarkable. The whole scene around the “oiling of the armour“ and the realistic conversation around it were wonderful.

The self doubt following the conversation with Arduin was clearly evident. Another good performance from Antonia

For a session without any combat at all, Antonia still seemed really at home. In particular, the long conversation with Arduin must have really tested her beliefs. The only reason I won‘t give a BIG is that there were only two of us, so it seems a little cheap to give it. It is a pleasure to play with you

Another wonderful performance. It‘s the little touches that make it like snapping out of a daydream at the mention of something important, frowning when a female NPC eyes up Simon or cleaning her face from water in a rock pool.

Comments in reference to the character Antonia Hoffman a Human: Antonia is a rather deep character. I thoroughly enjoy having her aboard. This adventure I spoke with her about such deeply personal things as her scar and her feelings for Simon. Both of these issues she approached cautiously, but with insight and the desire to explore them. The depth that Antonia has is inspiring, definitely getting my BIG this game.

Comments in reference to the character Antonia Hoffman a Human: In the past, Antonia has always come across as the stoic paladin, firm in her belief of the light and holding fast against darkness. Now, emmersed in the big city, her country upbringing comes forth. Amazed and intimidated at the world around her, her feeling of discomfort are evident. Well played.

Comments in reference to the character Antonia Hoffman a Human: Antonia‘s interaction with Rebecca was a high point of the roleplay experience of the module, as was her own reaction to events. The scene with Kalyl on top of the tower was memorable, as was Antonia‘s interaction with Simon during his struggle with vampirism. Also very much appreciated Le frog‘s contribution of an out-of-game in-character journal. --Carlo

Antonia was vital to the party, and was always in the front line when it cam to a fight. There was less roleplaying for all of us in this session than previously, but some very nice touches in terms of looking after the other characters.

Comments in reference to the character Antonia Hoffman a Human: During TLR 3: The Children, Antonia‘s growth I felt shone strongest in her interactions with other PCs, at the same time as she finished coming to terms with (NPC) Samuel‘s status as a Veranite and all that implies. The interplay between her and Simon was especially impressive, bringing both of their characters to life. She also maintained a web of relationships with other PCs and NPCs that rounded out her complex character. A joy to play with in-game, Le frog as a player is excellent in out-of-game activities too, such as writing a journal for Antonia. --Carlo

I liked the doubt over your leadership after the fight with the witches.

Another excellent session. Some of the interaction with the other characters was first class.

Overall a great session. Your reactions to Simon‘s various flirtations was well done and not over-played.

Truly outstanding.

Comments in reference to the character Antonia Hoffman a Human: Antonia in the first chapter of The Light Reborn campaign has seen her faith in the Light and in her own abilities tested and encountered much beyond her initial experience. Her journey to become a blooded crusader in Samuel‘s cause has been fascinating to watch, along with the bonds forged with her companions. Although the campaign setting is somewhat different than standard, I can say that I‘ve never seen a better paladin role played. Both in and out of game, too, Le frog shows true dedication to the spirit and practice of roleplaying. --Carlo

Comments in reference to the character Antonia Hoffman a Human: Antonia has shined even more as a character in the context of the party, especially now that she is now the only one remaining specially blessed by Samuel (with her paladin powers). As well as showing the wonder, surprise, and faith demanded of the role, Antonia does the “little things“ that add depth and believability to her as a character - for example, looking at her reflection in a pool after acquiring a necklace. She has a personality all her own, which is what one strives for in top-quality RP. --Carlo

Good roleplaying - expecially the reaction when Amlyn played up to Simon

Comments in reference to the character Antonia Hoffman a Human: I enjoyed playing with you Antonia.

Very close to being BIG, but couldn‘t make up my mind. Reacted well with the other players
10/06/04
Comments in reference to the character Antonia Hoffman a Human: Antonia is eminently believable as a paladin in the service of Samuel, not an easy character to play by any means. Her background comes alive in her actions, giving depth to the character - the scar she received on her face during a previous encounter from a not-quite-dead orc, and her resulting obsession with making sure enemies are truly dead, is the most visible example. She manages to combine serious dedication to Samuel‘s cause with a more relaxed, playful side well, making Antonia a complex and engaging personality. Of note, also works well with the DM on “extras“ such as custom gear and in-game guidance. --Carlo

Very good interaction, especially with NPCs such as the little boy. Shows a very humane side. Clearly the best in game for this session.
