We learned that Olaf may not be as dumb as he lets on - he was the one in the group who expressed doubts about going back up against the dragon that had slaughtered everyone. Either that, or he just learns from his mistakes or has some common sense. Either way, a really really fun and enjoyable character.

Olaf doesn‘t care for the military, but he does his job - that‘s all that matters for the most part.
It‘s easy to tell a good portion of him misses the sea and he doesn‘t look entirely comfortable in that armor.
