Reviews To Date for RoninJim

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Excellent choice of characters, this group needs a war proven general. Feel free to set up tactics, or change the ones we have been using. I feel we can count on Uther to get us through this mess we call reality.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Great job again by Uther. Well Played.

Uther Langsvard a Human: The Rock nearly crumbled today, giving into emotion at the loss of a friend. Would have throttled the skinny neck of the evil wizard if he didn‘t... wait a sec. Why didn‘t he? :P Great game.

[RoninJim's reply to comment: Heh, I tried :)

That Uther did good today probably comes as no surprise since he always does. :P I really liked the way you grabbed Calum, too bad the GMs let him slip away. ;)

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther‘s quiet concern for Alan and his equally quiet leadership really adds depth to his character. His occasional comments about his wife back home, also help bring the character to life. I especially liked seeing him this time adopt Shadow‘s traditional role in combat when Xun cast the invisibility on him. Sneaking up and striking down the mage from behind. Seems even old warriors can learn new tricks from their companions. Interesting to note too how Uther and Xun‘s relationship has grown over the campaign. I remember a time when casting that invisiblity spell would have provoked a fight, rather than teamwork.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: (Add Comments Here)I learned a little bit more about Uther today, and that is a good thing because he is a very well-drawn and well-played character. The bit about Shadow being barren and the pain that this revelation caused Uther was quite poignant. This was probably the best RP in the whole game today, which is saying a lot since it was all stellar. Nice job!

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther was well played this session - some good rp and a valiant attempt to organise us into a fighting troupe; which sadly quickly failed ;) Perhaps because there is a lack of respect in the group?

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: (Add Comments Here)Got the feeling that you were a bit frustrated/tired this session. Uther still rocks and seems content to let the others take the initiative, whether it‘s combat or interaction with NPCs. Love the little details like taking guard and watching for ambushes while everyone else rushed off to listen to what the NPC had to say/do.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Excellent job by Uther trying to meld this squabbling band into an effective fighting force. (Not that they listened to him). I love the occasional interjections about not getting enough money to bring back to his wife. Makes the character seem more real.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: (Add Comments Here)Great job of taking the lead today Uther, and trying to bring our band together as an effective fighting force. When we listened to your sage, veteran advice, we were a force to be reckoned with. When we didn‘t....well, that‘s what scrolls of Raise Dead are for, right? ;) Good job, once again, in playing the seasoned military man. You do it very convincingly.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Once again, great job playing uther! his role as a father figure and commander-of-sorts for the group adds another great flavor to the mix that makes this a true roleplaying experience! great job!!

Wish the others would stop gabbering enough for Uther to say a thing or two. The player is big enough at heart to let others hog the chatting and RP, but would dearly love to know more of Uther‘s past.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: (Add Comments Here) Nice game by Uther today, as always. A lot of good ideas. Looking forward to next game with you!

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther seemed a little quiet this session - there was none of his usual “glueing“ effect on his part; not that we needed it so much as I noticed its absence. Still a great game though. Looking forward to next time.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther always does a fantasic job as the calm, older leader. Sometimes its hard for him to get all his actions across and rise above the ‘noise level‘ due to the rather quick pace of play and more talkative players. Well played!

I enjoyed playing with Uther. RJ‘s traditional secret ingredient to good RP “The small details“, shines through. Clearing the bodies from the doorway, thinking of villagers getting trapped... Pleasure as always.
03/26/06
Uther is the rock of the party. You know he‘s always there, with his neverending supply of military lore. :) Feels great playing with you!

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: (Add Comments Here)So many people in our party are chatterboxes and overrun the screen with dialog, that it‘s hard to be heard in this group. But speak up, Uther. The words you say are always worth hearing. Hopefully we‘ll even pay heed to them! ;)

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: It was hard to choose who got the BIG this session. Uther is always in the running and played a great game. His RP interaction with other players is top notch.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther is just a great character all around. A steadying influence he‘s like the father figure for the rest of the young, brash group. His hesitation to loot the tombs was well played.
03/12/06
Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther was very well played this session, and his character really shone through. I also think you do a fantastic job of being a voice of reason in a party where lightning crackles visibly between some of our members. BiG.
03/06/06
Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther continues to be a good character, though his practical statement of only being in it for the money didn‘t quite ring true for some reason... him being a pure mercenary after refusing to sell Zhent ears seemed a little off... either that or he was lying to us! (Which given our campaign, is more-than possible.) Looking forward to next time.

[RoninJim's reply to comment: He's not just in it for the money. But he knows his worth and doesn't want to get himself killed for nothing. He doesn't take Zhent ears because he is a honourable man and does not believe mutilating a fallen soldier's body.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: (Add Comments Here)I have a very hard time not giving Uther a B.I.G. every adventure. He quietly shines, letting other people take the role-playing limelight, but is consistently in character and supportive of the other characters and the plot. He is so convincing as a retired military officer that I can almost hear his gruff voice. Great character and great player, every time.
03/06/06
Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther is always a pleasure to play with. He RP‘s his character so well, that it seems totally natural and you can just picture the retired military man in your mind. He‘s a stablizing figure that does a great job supporting (and not running on top of) other‘s RP opportunities. Wish I had another BIG to give out.
03/05/06
Uther is the epitome of military efficiency and tactics, always considering how best to attack a problem and level-headed in times of crisis. Often enough he denies caring about right’s or wrongs but plows on to get the job done, at times though he shows concern for his companions and steps in when conflict might break them apart. Is this just his military training attempting to keep solidarity in the party to get the task at hand complete or does he care about this group and their quest. Whatever his internal motives Uther continues to be the steadying hand that drives the party on when the difficulties often seem insurmountable and his paternal emotions sometimes go beyond comradeship when his friends are in real danger.
02/27/06
Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther has often been described as the glue of the party, and I think that is a very appropriate description. He is always the one to build bridges, always the one to approach others. If anything, the only thing he‘s never done in this aspect is to grab two arguing parties by the ear and drag them together to apologise - though that would probably do more harm than good with our group! His background is played fantastically, with small references adding incredible depth to him - you really get the feeling that he‘s a character; in fact, he‘s of the sort of calibre you really expect to see in a -very- good book. Perhaps one day, I can aspire to roleplaying quite as well as RoninJim does.
02/26/06
Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther was masterful, really being the glue that holds the rest of the party together in times of strife. He RP‘s very well with the other party members, encouraging and scolding in turn. His pieces thrown in about his past history in the iron guard and about his wife help make his character come alive. BiG

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: (Add Comments Here)Uther continutes to be the steadying element in our campaign, and keeps our divisive heroes together. Good job in earning our trust, even when we don‘t trust anyone else! :) B.I.G.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther‘s rather fatherly role in our grouop never fails to impress me. He uses his experience as a soldier time and again to aid us. A truly good show from the 1st session and every time afer, Best in game, no doubt!

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Well, Uther can really say he‘s been dragged out of retirement now - I mean, we won the war! Great roleplaying, and a very solid character - not predictable, but definitely a character with a good, recurring personality. BiG.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther did a fine job and provided some great moments and helped to get the group moving in several key spots when the game was getting a bit slow. Nicely played, just wish I had more BIG‘s to give out!

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther is a very original character (at the worst, he‘s an exceedingly creative use of a real-world stereotype) and his unique personality adds vibrance to the group. The player behind him is obviously an exceedingly creative and clever roleplayer, and some little things stand out that warrant my BiG: Diving behind a rock because our rogue sorcerer cast light on him when enemies were spotted for instance. Can‘t wait till next week.
02/12/06
Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther continues to shine as the older army captain, always going out of his way to bring up both his age and relationship with the troops. Nicely played.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther really seemed to come into his own in this game combining his tactical military experience with a commanders role with the group. His RP with the others was excellent, especially his outrage as the others continued to use some bad tactics in the combat. B.I.G.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: What would we do without Uther? Not have nearly so much fun that‘s for sure. His more reserved and - probably - wise attitude tempers the more chaotic elements of the party - though today at least one of our members slipped through the net. I think we all know who I‘m talking about *cough* Xun *cough*

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: (Add Comments Here)Uther is fast becoming the “father-figure“ of the group due to his steady influence, and calm leadership. Keep up the good work!

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther continues to excel as a wonderful RP‘ed character. His interaction with the council and the guard was great during this adventure and he is totally believeable as his character.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther‘s character continues to temper the rest of the team, providing a good balance to the far more chaotic Shadow and Xun. His “mentoring“ of other characters also goes down a treat - the way he offers little pieces of advice etc. Fantastic roleplaying.
01/16/06
Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther the ex-military officer - what a fantastic character. His presence adds an extra dynamic, and his good-slant (for instance, his dissaproval of cutting off Zhent ears for their bounty) adds excellent dynamic. Can‘t wait to play with you again.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther plays a wondful character as an older fighter. He slips into the role so well, he‘s totatly believable. He and Xun have a nice banter going back and forth. Well Played!

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: (Add Comments Here) A warm welcome to Uther! I really liked the character concept, and he pulled it off magnificently. I especially liked how he took a personal interest in each character, like a veteran/mentor would. Great job! B.I.G.

Comments in reference to the character Uther Langsvard a Human: Uther made a great addition to the group. He played an older warrior convincingly and his interaction with the other players and NPC‘s was very convincing. He made this caracter come alive. I can‘t wait to see what‘s next.
