Little Ori was very rogue-like this session, and her thorough searching and trap disarming was vital to the group‘s survival. I really liked the use of tactics in battle, and the best part of this past session was the dialogue with Mona and Farrah. Plus, little Ori always evidenced her short attention span unless it involved treasure, at which point her ears would perk up and she‘d immediately find her focus. As always, it was fun having you in the group and I do hope we can game together again soon!

Comments in reference to the character Ori Webbly a Halfling: (Add Comments Here)Ori-Webbly was a great little rogue, and she was constantly wandering off, following after her curiousity and doing so under the guise of “scouting.“ Still, Ori was never far from the group, just wisely far enough to avoid getting into any deadly situations. Oh, except for that beheading...that would have been especially ugly if Ori was not a halfling and the blade had only scalped her. I quite enjoyed Ori‘s antics and thought it was hilarious how she had to keep her eye on the dwarf so he wouldn‘t set off any more traps and doom the entire group! Ori‘s skills this game were vital to everyone‘s survival, and her light-hearted demeanor kept everything fun. It was great having the halfling along!

Comments in reference to the character Yzma a Human: (Add Comments Here) Yzma was quite an interesting character! This old woman was the first I‘ve seen on NWNC, and the part was acted well. I especially liked how she played her personal motives into the game--her sudden interest in serving the Regulation was in response to their promised longevity. Her selfish, grumpy, and sarcastic demeanor made her an unpleasant companion on the adventure, but the dynamics of this character added to the game and did not cause trouble as most evil-aligned PC‘s tend to. Great job with this one, and I look forward to seeing more of her!

Great game from Arnold. I really liked this character really made it feel like we were dealing with an eight year old. The pouting over the arrows to the point of throwing down the bow and arrows was excellent. From a fun perspective I liked how Arnold would ask all the others questions one on one at some point. When I saw the words “Um, Mr. Dwarf“, I never knew what question would follow. Great stuff and hope to play with you again - Vual

Comments in reference to the character Arnold McElroy a Human: (Add Comments Here) Arnold was great! This was a fun switch from the usual rogue, and with you playing as a child (cool that you changed the graphic for that--wish the voice would have worked, too!), Arnold was a very believeable character. The talks about what Mom used to say, the skipping, curiousity, and even a little reliance and dare we say idolization of the wizard were all realistic traits of a young boy. I‘m glad this session is continuing tomorrow, because I‘m looking forward to seeing more of this character!

Comments in reference to the character Squid a Elf: Nice playing with you again, oraweb. I thought your character concept was strong and unique. Definitely one of the more unusual characters of the group. I also liked how your character attempted to misdirect the party (“east“ not “west“) because it created for some interesting conflict and tested the confidence of some of the party members. I think it‘s interesting that level one characters be tested this way. Usually you do not see many opportunities for beginning characters to resolve dilemmas such as what you presented. Hope to play with you again someday! Best Player in Game.

Comments in reference to the character Lady Maribell a Human: (Add Comments Here) This player did a good job of roleplaying. One thing I may suggest is that in games that specifically state that players must be team oriented, it is not a good thing to call for the resignation of the party leader. This does not promote team work and causes rifts.

Comments in reference to the character Lady Maribell a Human: (Add Comments Here)Lady Maribell was quite a selfish snob! I thought you played the spoiled diva quite well, and there were many instances where you took the opportunity to add in comments that further rounded out her selfish, conceited behavior. Sometimes I had a hard time accepting she was good-aligned, but then there were those moments where she apologized and was more giving than one would expect. The memory loss after the mind-flayer was my favorite part, and I really enjoyed how you played through that. Excellent job!

Comments in reference to the character Vick a Half-Elf: (Add Comments Here)I liked Vick! His low self-confidence was displayed as he kept profusely apologizing for being late to catch up with the group, and after only a few battles he already regarded everyone as best friends and was inviting us to his sister's boar roast next month. That was classic! That was the first time I felt like the characters in a game would continue on with their lives after the adventure--it added a level of unexpected depth to your character. Vick's fascination with fire has me wondering (and worried) and his curiousity has evidenced him to be unintentionally dangerous to the group. Great character, I'm excited to see where this goes! (if we all survive the horrid death system of this game.)

Character Played: Amath-Xilham (Wraith):
-------------------------
Oraweb, great to adventure with you again. Great job with your wraith character, interesting choice and you played it well. Was funny to see his arrogance slip away the minute we went out into the daylight. His disdain for EVERYTHING living was very appropriate and made for some interesting moments in the adventure. Thought you played up his weakness in the daylight well, always trying to stick to ANY type of shadow you could find (I don't think that little tree provided much shade ;)
Again, great game.

Wraith was a blast. You definitely played the "I'm already dead" and "I can't take the light" things well. Excellent role-playing. You and the yuan-ti definitely hit it off, sometimes to the chagrin of the kobold, but it made sense with the characters. Thanks for a great game.

Character Played: Amath-Xilham (Wraith):
-------------------------
Nicely played! The impatient, brooding wraith and his complaints about how he preferred to sleep another 1,000 years were very fitting. It's amazing, though, how with all those immunities and drain attacks the wraith still was relatively weak in battle. You played evil well oraweb, and made sure that it was the fun kind of evil and not the irritating kind. Plus, your fear of the light was quite well-played, and it was funny how everyone started to mock you out of spite in response to your former arrogance. My only complaint was that everyone wandered off sometimes, but then, I guess I can't complain about that too much--evil doesn't always work as a team. Great game, and I hope we can do more with these characters!

Character Played: Oraweb Gygaxian (Human):

The first time I've ever seen you play a truly evil character! Well done! It's hard accurately ranking people for role-playing evil characters, but you played yours well. We all were back-stabbing jerks to eachother, and instead of this being frustrating, it was actually quite comical. Your constant cuts on the rogue were appropriate, and the reprimand to the rogue for not finding a weapon early on was nicely delivered. The self-righteous "the world should fear me" attitude was fit your character well. It's certainly a challenge to play evil and have fun, but we did a great job, I think!

Poor little Ori! So astute, yet no one listened, Ori was like the Greek Cassandra: knowing the truth but everyone ignored her. She fit the group about as well as a tiny halfing could. Character Played: Orawebrick Efferendis (Elf):
-------------------------
Great job with the brooding, dark sorcerer! He certainly needed encouragement to stay on task, and we had to keep reminding him of why he was needed on the quest. Low self-confidence, depressed, and a desire to head home, Orawebrick was anything but happy. As the game's host, Ora also made sure to remind us to stay on task, yet this was done appropriately in character. Since I happen to have talked with Ora OOC, I can tell he was stretching himself through this character. I hope to have the chance to see him in other roles as well!

Ora was much improved last night, many fewer OOC comments, and much more graphic roleplaying. Still, he went kinda insane in the middle there, and a little too much "leading" the party. |
| 01/10/03 |
Ora was a nice character, but I struggled with two different things. One, as the author of the mod, I felt like Ora was subtly trying to guide us, warn us of what was coming, and trying to make sure we didn't miss anything. The second was that Ora had a lot of out-of-character comments that were a little bit of mood-kills for me. (This is excluding a big brouhaha we had in the middle of the adventure with another player.) Overall, though, it was enjoyable, it's just that those things kept me from getting really immersed in Ora's character.
