Kragthor Trollsbane

*The Shadowlord Campaign*

Kragthor belongs to a tribe of dwarves who''s duty it is to protect the wilderness of the dwarven mountains from any who seek to disrespect it''s majesty. The tribe is made up of the orphaned and clanless dwarves of the Great Hall who are then turned over to the Oracle, the tribes leader. Being without a clan the surname of these dwarves usually reflect a hated creature or monster of that particular dwarf. They eat, sleep and live on the mountain ranges and are the unseen first defense of the Great Hall. One night recently the Oracle had a vision of a massive army attacking the mountains and wiping out the clans. The next morning the tomb of the Old Bear, the founding member of the Tribe, had been found robbed and desecrated, it''s guardians dead. There were no marks on the bodies but their faces were twisted in terror. Oddly the only item taken was Iron Claw, the legendary greataxe of the Old Bear. Legend has it that even in death the Old Bear still wielded Iron Claw to protect the lands where the Tribe couldn''t. Without it the Old Bear would hibernate leaving the unseen gateways unguarded and open to the darkness. The Oracle gathered every dwarven tribesman that could be spared and sent them to the corners of the realms to recover the stolen artifact. It was this event that sent Kragthor out of the mountain wilderness and into the world.

Personality:

Kragthor can be very hard to get along with at first but if you earn his trust then you have an ally for life. Sometimes, a lot of times actually, there seems to be no filter from his brain to his mouth and thus he''s very outspoken and opinionated. He''s also VERY mistrusting of magic and elves. Though loud and obnoxious his heart seems to be in the right place.

Appearance:

His head is bald and tattooed with some sort of dwarven runes. His eyes are light brown in color and he also has dwarven runes tattooed under his left eye. His beard is a reddish/brown and mainly unkempt. It''s knotted with cloth in several spots along the bottom. There is a large scar that runs from over his left eye across the bridge of his nose to under his right eye. His clothes seem to be made of wolf pelts and other skins of woodland animals.
