The youngest son of a successful merchant, Pieren had no real expectation of inheritance, although he did enjoy a well rounded education. Early on he discovered a knack for solving tough problems, and a talent for working with mechanical devices. A keen observer of human nature, he noticed that though they might scheme and plot to great lengths, most often the end results simply cancelled each other out. He reasoned that the only sane way to live his life was to strive to perfect those skills towards which he was most inclined. He tends to view all other things as tools to be used towards that end; and are measured on their individual merits, and the needs of the situation. He does not share other''''''''s hunger for power, or their rival''''''''s dedication to great causes. He is not a pilferer or a pickpocket (though he has done both), and prefers to work with a diverse group of like-minded professionals during his quest for self-perfection. Despite this rather pragmatic philosophy, he maintains the mischevious sense of humor that Hin are widely known for, and it is as often self directed as it is directed at others.
