Carefree, fun-loving, bright and winsome - none of these words describe Calduil Quickeye very well. He is a mercenary through and through. Ruthless, methodical, pragmatic. Better words. He does not rely on romantic notions. He knows fortune favours the prepared, the numerically superior and the tactically well-deployed. He is quick to point out the obvious flaws in any plan, yet in the end he will respect the chain of command. Because it is not really about the money; he needs a mission. He needs to serve. Slow to anger, even slower to mirth; his rare attempts at humour are most often of the sardonic variety. There is probably a story to all this, but so far no-one has managed (or bothered) to drag it out of him.
