Is there anything more beautiful than the smile of a child, or the coo of a babe? Have you ever seen a halfling babe? A heavenly bit of tiny perfection. so tiny, so innocent.
It was an unremarkable day in a string of beautifully ordinary unremarkable days. My husband Ronnie was off to market to sell some chickens. I kissed my dearest babe Kaylee gently on the forehead, gave her to my younger sister Sarah for safekeeping, and headed out to the fields.
I can't remember if it was the screams, or the smoke that first caught my attention. I ran back to the house, in my panic and haste leaving the pony hitched to the plow.
The door was wrenched clear off, the roof in flames. I ran inside, smoke stinging my eyes. Sarah lay dead, blood everywhere, but no sign of my child. I stumbled outside...
When Ronnie returned, he comforted me as best he could. Other than dispatching a few messages, he never left my side in the following days. You see, Ronnie was an adventurer before we met and fell in love. His friends came from near and far, by horse, boat, pony, and witchcraft. Ronnie got his gear out of the hayloft, and headed off with them in search of our Kaylee.
That was three years ago...
I stayed on the farm and waited. By day, I worked. By night, I trained. Ronnie's spare weapons served as a reminder of him, and a way to work myself to exhaustion, so I could sleep.
But after three years, two with no word, I couldn't wait any longer. I left the farm in my brother's care, and headed off, in search of my family, if I still have one...

Despite her past, Briana is generally a very positive, happy person. She's a bit inexperienced and naive, but eager to learn to try new things.
