The T'ylne clan is known within the Drow community for producing loyal and ruthless warriors. Naro, however, was always different than the rest of her family. She is particulary stubborn and skeptical of her people's teachings. She never understood the blood-thirsty nature of her clan or the entire Drow folk for that matter.
Unfortunately though, her clan's tradition thrust her into a life of military service. The Drow quickly identified that her slight build would not suit her on the front-line of a battlefield. Instead, she was taught the tactics of espionage and stealth. Inside her mind however, Naro's natural curiosity had always been of the arcane. She knew that if it wasn't for her cursed family name, she would have been selected as an apprentice mage.
Her frustration leads to ambition and she uses her rogue training to "gain access" to the clan's libraries after closing. Late one evening while reading about simple spell reagents, she is approached by a figure in the darkness. Engrossed in her tome, Naro is startled and her military instincts kick in. Before she realizes it, her hand and dagger are covered in the blood of the city's Head Tomemaster.
Knowing the penalties for such an incident, Naro picks up what books she can and flees for the surface world. There she hopes to escape her people and perhaps continue her arcane training. Either way, she must conceal her drow identity in fear of both her own people's spy network and the surface dweller's hatred of her kin.
