Elith Grelin

Elith is both brilliant and nimble. He is one the most powerful mages to come out of the school of magic in Suldennessallar in over 100 years. There is only one problem. Elith is sick, VERY sick. It's some kind of blood disease or some have even called it a curse. It has run in his family for generations. Before the “change” he was forced drink medicine at least once a day to stay alive. The ingredients for the potion could have been found just about anywhere but only Elith and his family knew what they were or how to make it. He had been taking this medicine for over 150 years. It has turned his skin a grayish color and made his hair turn a dark green. It used to make him feel sick and drunk everytime he drank this potion. He hated that feeling the potion gave him and after 50 years of adventuring he started to hate a lot of things about his life.

Life on the road was never kind to Elith. He had to constantly depend on the kindness and help of those around him to survive. He felt that he would not live long and all he wanted was to explore the world and get as much out of it as he could. He often thought that it would be nice to find a cure for his illness but after many generations and thousands of years of nobody being able to find it. He held out no hope for a cure and rarely thought about it.

Then it happened…It was quite by accident really. He was deep within the tunnels of White Peek Mountain when he discovered an abandoned labratory. It belonged to a necromancer named Clavemorre. It looked like the like the wizard had not been there for hundreds of years so Elith stayed and studied everything he could get his hands on. According to what the books said he could live forever and in perfect health by simply killing himself and then raise himself as an undead (this is a gross simplification of the process but it is the general idea).

There was another piece to this puzzle….He has to drink souls every once in a while. While this was not the most pleasant of ideas to Elith. He figured he could pull it off without much trouble considering his life style as an adventurer. He had killed thousands of creatures…the only difference now was that he needed to drink there souls. A small price to pay for his FREEDOM!!

He does not look undead except for the flesh on his right arm is completely missing. He uses this arm for drinking the souls of his victims. He always keeps it covered and hidden for if any living thing touches his hand/arm it's soul will be drained causing it to fall dead instantly.

Elith is not a sinister, evil necromancer. This is simply a choice he has made in order to survive. He is not proud of it nor does he like to talk about it. He comes across as a oddly colored elf with a hidden power.
