As a student Willoughby excelled at his studies and quickly attracted the attention of his instructors. He soon graduated and began his own research and experimentation, using grants from local lords to fund his studies. Since his research often required very rare materials, Willoughby (referred to as 'W' by most) began to explore the lands and invariably became an adventurer.
