Nostrum Wundersnap

Nostrum Wundersnap - now theres a name for the ages, a powerful gnomish wizard who has seen many adventures, he retired quite a few years ago to teach magic at many of the top schools. Last few years he has focussed more on research and less on teaching and people have generally left him to it, especially since his research tower is in a remote island.

You see, over time Nostrum has become just a little absent minded and forgetful - the sort who while being extraordinary adapt at magic, sometimes casts entirely the wrong spell amongst other things. He is also prone to losing his components, his staff and sometimes even his hat, even if the hat is still on his head and the staff was simply transferred from his left hand to his right.

Yep you know the type. Big handlebar moustache, pleasant chap generally but when he accidently casts a web spell on the entire party on accident when he wanted something else for the fifth time in a row, patience starts to wear a little thin.

Good ol Nostrum...now he is awfully tired of 'lollygagging' around (as he puts it) and decided to rejoin the adventuring life one last time - even if it is just to rejog those old tired grey cells and recast those wonderous spells of old.

--- Planewalkers Campaign Information:- Nostrum originates from an alterate plane of existence from Castellar... his origins are from Krynn and the Dragonlance Plane (known as the shuttered world in Planescape due to the fact most inhabitants of the world are oblivious of the other planes.) In one of his first adventures after coming out from retirement, he accidently crossed spells with that of a magical artifact which sent him spnning through the rift into Sigil. He spent quite some time there before finally walking through a doorway slapbang into this universe. But was this dreamworld quite ready for Nostrum?

N.B Nostrum used to be a very powerful wizard back in Ansalon and was a teacher back at his home in Mount Nevermind. But his distance from the realm means the moon that he drew his power from - Solinari no longer reaches him as it did. He has found however that he can still draw power from Him (Solinari while a moon is also a demi-god) but it is filtered to such a degree that he can only cast much lower level spells. But as he continues casting, he seems to be able to find more conduits to call on the gods magics and thus 're-levels' back to his old form. The lack of his old magics has made his body weaker too and so the process of levelling is as anew (until he returns home when he should instantly be back to him old masterful self).
