Duddy Dwizzledorf is a fun-loving halfling of small fame in his tiny home village near the southern edge of the High Forest. His local fame comes from his propensity for poking around in other peoples business (and property) and helping himself to any "souvenirs" he might find suitable along the way. This unfortunate (and undeserving if you ask Duddy) reputation has caused a great deal of ill will amongst the people of his village, including his own family. Thus he has set out to find adventure and riches, without a care in the world for the life he's left behind. The diminutive Halfling spends much of his time with Sartori the Wizard, a high-strung mage of great intellect but often little courage. Duddy's proclivity for finding trouble has invariably gotten Sartori in some tight spots, a fact that the Wizard is constantly reminding him of. After a recent adventure to seek an item in a crypt in the High Forest for a powerful mage, Duddy's curiosity got the better of him and he helped himself to one of the Lord Mage's spellbooks. Sartori gave much protest, but of course could not help but look. Once the Great Mage realized what had happened, it didn't take long for Duddy and Sartori to realize that it was time to move on. Despite Sartori's outward disdain for the Halfling, the two have become good friends and adventuring companions, each giving the other invaluable help when the two find themselves in a pickle. With each other's help, the two are well on their way to becoming wealthy and powerful adventurers.
