While he was growing up, Rukshan envied the paladin captains of the barony he lived in, and how he would up there was quite fortunate indeed...
Left for dead in a hut of an orc encampment as soldiers were driving the orc force away, he doesn't know anything of his parents. Found by a friend of the baron(both then young fighers), now retired and operating as a master chef for the castle, he took pity on the 'little' half-breed babe and took him home to raise him like a son.
He grew up being taught good things, and was generally good. Of course there was the occasional fight with another young child here and there, which he would embarrasedly admit to his 'father' that he enjoyed the thrill of the fight.
As he got older, he wanted to train and become a paladin. All the stories and songs he heard of them as a youth egged him on, though try as he might he just couldn't stand to follow laws. They didn't seem to apply as much for him when others would tease him, or ignore him, or deny him things that other normal children got with ease.
He then decided to take up the blade as a fighter and follow his own concience whereever it led him. He usually likes to keep to himself, though he will step in on other's problems if someone is being unfairly picked on, or cannot do much about it.
