Isi became aware that she was different at a very young age. Isi was able to preceive and feel things that her older siblings and friends could not.

At first her mother dismissed it as a way for her to get attention away from her older siblings, and it was not until, in a fit of rage, Isi nearly knocked the front door to their humble abode off it's hinges without even being next to it, that her mother had to accept the fact that Isi possessed some type of arcane powers naturally.

Dender hated magic, feeling it was evil. He distanced himself from Isi more and more and she resented him bitterly for it. When Isi finally had the opportunity go study her art further under the tutelage of a local Sorceress, she left her father and her given last name behind.

Isi learned quickly, but she craved travel and adventure and dispised study and practice. She knew that she would leave Amn at the first opportunity.
