No one can remember seeing "Iron" Scops without his great metal helm. If you described JUST that hunk of iron, it would be enough; a heavy visored helmet with exaggerated winged rims. Strangely, it's without dent, even though it's obviously very old. However, the chin strap is broken and there are marks where a mouth-guard should have been. Scops has made up for it by wrapping his face under the visor with thick cloth strips. Because of this, only his eyes are exposed: yellow beacons shining through a frame of iron. Thus his namesake.
