Erinaren
Erinaren grew up in the village of Bree, east of the Shire. Her father, Evanir, was one of the numerous militians that were standing guard against dangers from outside and inside. He told her that her mother, Rowan, died in a troll ambush in the meadows when Erinaren was only aged one year, so Erinaren didn't miss her, only the fact that she didn't have a mother like the other children. Evanir took another wife, Mary, when she was 12, and Erinaren had not much love for her, even if, to please her father, she played the good daughter. Life could have been about very dull and normal for Erinaren, being born, raised and married to a farmer to be busy with the field - not a bad life, and she was really not ready for another life, having being raised like this, in a quiet village near halfling lands, where the travelers going through and stopping at the Prancing Pony were the event of the month, sometimes of the year. But one day, when she was sixteen, she went to the south greenway alone to collect some components for a medicine soup - her stepmother was ill from a fever. She took her father's bow (she trained a little with it) and went down the greenway. She was searching for the herbs when she heard the plaintive whining of a dog or a wolf, with numerous voices laughing around. When she looked after turning around a big rock, she saw a wolf of enormous size caught in a trap and net, and around many goblins assembled, poking at him with pointed sticks. Erinaren thought they were capturing him to make a worg out of this beautiful creature. The eyes of the wolf and the eyes of Erinaren crossed and suddenly there was a rush in her blood. Not to kill the goblins, but to rescue that beautiful animal. It was like their minds were linked together, and she knew exactly how to strike and when... That she did, with her bow, while the wolf took one of the goblins by surprise. Erinaren succeeded to take two of the goblins before three more were on her, beating her with their clubs. She fell into darkness... ... only to be awaken by a strange-looking woman with beautiful features, having the wolf at her side. She was in a grove full of flowers.. The air was very pure. "My name is Feriane, and I am a druid of the forest nearby. You saved my companion's life", said the lady showing the wolf playing in the background. "He brought you here : you were at death's door. In return I saved your life. You have elven blood in your veins, but I feel you don't know it. And you are more attuned with nature than you think... You should consider coming back here sometimes to take some learning from me." That day Erinaren's life changed. She went from home, and her father didn't say anything. He understood, because he knew her mother. Erinaren thus trained and became a ranger, being more the combative type than the wise type of nature's defenders. She was taught to respect the teachings of Daoine Sidhe and Mielliki, and she swore to protect nature all her life. Sometimes, she is coming back to Bree, to see her family and her newly-born half-brother...
