Dalgar was born into the notoriously fearless and warlike Giantbane clan, famous for hunting down and destroying giants throughout their region. Dalgar, however, was an extremely timid child who clung to his mother's apron strings and avoided fighting at all cost. He chose the calling of cleric/healer not so much because he had any great religeous faith but because he hoped it would keep him out of any real danger.
