His mother was an elven wizard and when he was growing up she tried to teach him some basic spells but although he could remember them he had difficulty performing them while he was young. His father was the village blacksmith having once been a member of the local militia and taught him some basic crafting skills. He was always quite sharp growin up but he never really fitted in with the humans in the village he grew up in and his parents died when he was 15 in an orc and goblin raid on the village. Since then he has sworn revenge on the orcs and goblins. With no parents left to look after him and shunned by the villagers at 16 he left with a ranger who was passing through the local inn to try and find a place in the world. However after a few months his ranger friend died protecting him from goblins and he escaped into the wilderness to learn to fend for himself and has avoided letting people get too close to him.
