Aina was raised in the snowy mountain realms of a distant land. Her father, a human blacksmith, was a good provider but not a kindly man, prone more to fighting than talking. And her elven mother suffered the brunt of the fighting, until the fateful day when she left with Aina's older sister in the middle of the night. After this, Aina worked hard to care for and shelter her two younger sisters. The taunts of village boys about the blacksmith's witch daughters brought the three many a sorrowful night. But the two younger sisters worked hard to hide their elven characteristics, and they were both thrilled to marry as soon as possible, at the age of sixteen. But the mountain village was not what Aina had in mind for her life. Ever since the night her mother and sister left, Aina has been driven with the desire to find them. The opportunity did not come to begin seeking them until Aina's father died, just a few weeks ago. With her sisters married and to more kindly men than their father, she felt free to flee her life at last. She had heard of Annakol from traders who visited their village, and it seemed the best place to start her search.
