Ah, well, hello there my fellow traveler. I take it by your close look that you would like to know a little bit about me?
Well, as you can see, I’m a gnome. That’s plain enough. But don’t ask me to make you something, or to become curious about how something is made. Those sentiments, I’m afraid, I must leave to my fellows.
But come, why dwell on the mundane. Let’s discuss something that will set all of our eyes alight, if you will forgive my veiled allusion.
I’m talking, of course, about gems! The gift of the earth, of the deep places. Something to catch your eye – far more interesting than me – something to hold the light, with a myriad of colors, and to shine with unremembered secrets.
But, forgive me, my passion makes my tongue run away sometimes. I suppose I am a gnome after all. Certainly my fathers gnome...
In any case, there really is not much more to tell about myself. I have seen much of the world, and would like to see more.
Perhaps, if you will do me the honor, we can explore it together for a time. I will happily join you to wander up the high mountains, or across the distant plains. The only thing I ask, dear traveler, is that we never go into the forest…
