Talonis D'aerth was born into slavery. The offspring of two elves making the best of a horrible life, Talonis lived in the underdark for the early part of his life, the slave of the Drow.
Desperate to save their child from the mistakes and life of the parents, Talonis's mother and father fled the underdark and nearly escaped... they emerged from a cave near the city of Luskan only to be cut down from behind. The story would end here but priests of Tyr, seeing the drow as they passed by attacked and vanquished the murderous Drow, too late for Talonis's parents however.
For the next 50 years Talonis worked for the priests, supposedly free, but in truth Talonis was worked nearly as hard in the underdark. His ownly solace was the great library of the temple of Tyr. There he found a book of simple tricks and magic was from then on as much a part of him as breathing.
The priests would not accept Talonis's new passion, and they cast him out of the Temple. So Talonis without a home, a family, or even a race to identify with set out on his own... determined to pay back the Drow that had murdered his parents, and show the priests what an orphaned elf can accomplish.
