Kamlee was born and raised in the northern mountain village of Haildune, a community that lived perpetually one drought away from starvation. While Kamlee was in her mid-teens, the village began a period of time referred to under a hushed breath as the dry years. It was during this time that fear led to mistrust, mistrust lead to violence and neighbors turned against their neighbors in an effort to survive. Tired of watching the weak and unarmed being taken advantage of, Kamlee decided to visit the old village recluse on the hill because of rumors of his past as a powerful monk. In exchange for running his errands and carrying his supplies up the massive hill regularly, master Kindo agreed to teach Kamlee the art of unarmed combat. But he required that she also learn the ways of Ilmater and when her training was complete she must leave the village to use her skills to liberate the oppressed and defend the helpless. So with her training complete and the local ruffians defeated, our heroine begins her journey to do good in the name of Ilmater and honor her promise to master Kindo.
