Buurk has no recollection of his early childhood; he was found wandering in the nearby woods by a local farmer. The farmer took pity on the lost child and took him into his home as an only child. Being an obvious half-breed, early life was not easy for Buurk as he was collectively shunned by the community and spent most of his time in the relative isolation of farm life. He grew quickly, his massive bulk taking shape from a voracious appetite and endless hours of intensive labour in the fields. His acts of strength became legendary throughout the village and he slowly began to gain a measure of tolerance throughout the community, even making friends with a few other outcasts his age; Xaster, Nory and Filch. Although half-orcs are often targets for bounty hunters, Buurk makes no effort to disguise his racial heritage. His fearsome demeanor and the obscurity of Greenvale allow him such luxury but his friends make sure he curbs his behavior when an Imperial patrol passes through town.
