Kyilaliana is kind to a fault and always treats others with a trust that invites compassion. She is loyal to those she cares for, even sometimes to the point where she subverts her own feelings to protect those of others. Kyilaliana has difficulty managing confidence in herself and often worries that people will stop liking her if she isn't always ingratiating herself to gain favour. Always nervous and full of self-doubt, she stutters and stammers when she speaks and often her voice trails off quietly when she's unsure that her opinion won't be well-received. The only time she speaks without hesitation is when she is beside herself with anger but these displays are quite rare for timid and soft-spoken Kyilaliana.

Her ability to move quietly through forest terrain and her keen aim with a shortbow are impressive for an elf so young. She's most comfortable being in the wide open spaces of nature and feels a little claustrophobic in caves and underground. Kyilaliana also suffers from an extreme form of zoophobia; she's oddly uncomfortable around animals of the forest and prefers to avoid contact with them whenever possible, fearing that they won't like her and try to bite her. She hopes that more experience out in the wild will reduce her fear so that she can be a more effective ranger. She has a great hatred of all giant spiders and will attack them fervently. When she was a child, her elven village had been partially overrun by a large number of giant spiders that had nested nearby. They had been driven back and eventually completely destroyed by the village's war party but many families had suffered losses. Kyilaliana had watched, tears streaming down her cheeks, as her older sister Thalissia had cradled the tattered body of their brother Dendorian. She swore a bloodoath that day that she'd kill every last spider in the entire wood to avenge her brother's death.

Family is the most important thing in Kyilaliana's life. She idolizes her older sister Thalissia and trys to emulate her positive qualities, such as bravery and compassion. Leaving home to embark on a journey of self-discovery has been a painful one for Kyilaliana and she thinks of her family constantly. She used to cry nights being away from them but she has grown up since leaving home and becomes a little more mature every day.
