The world of the Gradahad Saga is one that is ever changing as politics and legendary occurrences shape the lives of every man woman and child Starting with the legendary journey of Jared Gradahad and the quest for an ancient artifact to his son Dalmont and the reemergence of the legendary races The world as it was once known has forever changed as we embark into the time of Dark Embers Years past as the once thought mythic races of Elf Dwarf and Gnome returned to the lands of men and set the wheels of chaos into motion Some distraught by the actions of their leaders sought refuge in the exploration of new horizons It was these few who uncovered an uncharted and unexplored realm of beauty and danger They named this great land far from the main Genaltus after the mythical hero of the ocean It was not long before people of all walks descended upon the island mostly to escape the retribution of their homelands others to escape the possibility of being drafted into great armies These would be settlers had but only two options for their arrival charter or purchase a ship or take passage upon the only vessel that traveled to the island Still many sought out the fabled tows of Cellance and Delshire Cellance founded by a Morse noble Cellance Mc Doogle lay upon the coast just outside a beautiful forest Delshire founded by a Londish gentile named Venard Delshire resides within a sparse clearing a ways back from the coast Both towns seemed to flourish for a time yet rumors upon the mainland spoke of odd happenings within the lush continent of Genaltus Rumors of people mysteriously disappearing and worse creatures not yet heard of and dissidents of the foulest nightmares brought to life The children of the town founders sought to hamper these stories in the hopes people would continue to flock to their fledgling towns However the more they attempted to smother the stories the larger they became Soon the people coming to the townships dwindled the ship traveling to the land reduced it s trips even then the passengers were merely looking for adventure Yet the more mercenaries that came the more stories that abound Only a handful ever returned mad and half starved The town leaders quickly put them on ships and had them sent from the land only to find the mad men s stories caused them more grief then good As another generation passed the stories and adventure of the new land faded from memory replaced instead by the heated political ambiance of the main land Wars were about to be raged and in a time of war fantasy tales seem to be replaced by fear and dread Once again a few sparse settlers arrived at the town of Cellance this time seeking shelter from the war that loomed ahead
