Into the Realms Sunday 5: Suspicions and Fear [02:15 AM 02/03/03 GMT]
At the bequest of Lord Geigers the ragtag adventurers set out in search of the missing Village Elder. Traveling to the north in blind hope of either finding him returning from Waterdeep with the promised help or finding some clue as to where he may have gone, they were ambushed by bandits. In a grove nearby the ambush, they also found a large bandit camp and evidence as to who had taken the Elder as well as possibly where. With several ideas on how to proceed they set out back for town.
To the surprise of most of the group, Rutledge had snuck off and entered the home of Black Jay stealing his prized gifts from the elves to the northwest. He was going to give these away as a gift to the party until they discovered where they came from. Insisting that Jay had to be a conspirator involved in the attacks upon Brighton, Rutledge confronted him threateningly with just a handful of poisoned arrows as evidence.
Summoning the local militia as defense against these heinous accusations, Black Jay swore to have them all dragged off to cells in the Tower if they did not return his possessions. Reluctantly, the adventurers returned his possessions and backed away before any bloodshed. They still continued to argue with the militiaman over Jay's possible guilt however. Is Black Jay some sort of spy, as the group seems to think? Could he be involved with Krand? Will they be able to find Krand, and hopefully the Village Elder alive, deep within the Misty Forest around town? The sun soars across the sky towards nightfall; too many delays may see the Elder's death if he is even still living . . .
