Game History

Fleet Street: M1 - Menhir Plains for GMT [07:00 PM 01/31/03 GMT]
The tale begins anew.

The trade routes east and west along the midlands are a good place for roamers and travelers to find work, while satisfying their wanderlust. And the roads, while by no means crowded, have an eclectic enough mix of people that almost anyone can blend in. There's caravan work in most towns, so those who don't mind picking up a little guard duty can cover their ale and bed costs. Penitents and pilgrims roam from Fluorospar to Tri'Anthanor.

The party assembled has no long-term connections, but for various reasons, a few towns back each of you were unoccupied, and so you decided to travel together for mutual protection and companionship.

You've sized up your companions, and each seems to bring certain strengths to the mix. You may have thought of suggesting that the group set out on some common goal, but nothing's come to mind just yet. In any case, any initial distrust has mostly faded.

The last few days of westward travel have been soggy, muddy, and uneventful. There seems to be a bit of a dull stretch along the western roads; one or two nights you had to camp out in a nearby grove. And so when the lands open up to rolling fields and small, rustic cottages, the thought of any inn, no matter how meager, sounds appealing.

You come into Hearthsend late at night, and the inn floor is mostly empty except for a few old men talking softly in the corner. A pert young blonde woman politely but quietly exchanges money for keys, and locks the front door. It seems you got here just in time.

You head up to your rooms in the darkness, a few candles illuminating the stairs, and shut yourself into clean, sparse rooms for the night.

As the game begins, you rise before dawn, eager for something to eat...
