The Crossroads Campaign chapter note AMOOF members only password available only through the AMOOF guild General introduction The Baron of Moonhaven holds his fief from the King by hereditary right but in the last several centuries his family s influence over the surrounding countryside has dwindled considerably Allies have moved away or fallen to evil beasts the power of the druids has waned and monsters of all sorts have encroached further and further onto the lands once held by man Trolls infest the swamps to the north giant spiders and wild spirits haunt the forests and increasingly bold bandit lords make travel and trade difficult at best Several times in recent months evil armies of goblins giants bugbears or minotaurs have beset the city of Moonhaven and other more insidious threats have been narrowly averted by the unstinting efforts of wandering rangers and good hearted heros You and your companions have ended up in Moonhaven either through accident or design and now must eke out a living as best you can in these trying times WIll you be up to the challenges you must face The Story of the Show So Far Chapter Aggrowan Granny Weather the Barbarian Secretbook the Wizard Oldin of Lighthand paladin initiate of the Lighthand order of the Divine Eowelien Priestess of the Moon and Lonack Silvermane had two short adventures and discovered clues to another First a dog arrived carrying a hastily written damp and torn message from some pilgrims waylaid in their caravan by goblins and worse Dozens of goblins and ogres later the four survivors were freed and returned to the village of Crossroads Among the loot from the raided caravan was a journal written by Angus Weather Aggrowan s grandfather Then a farmer named Norick requested the adventurers aid in recovering the household idol cum protective spirit from grandad who kept running off with it The old coot had become such a bother since his death the previous winter The adventure ended in discussions with various residents of Crossroads including Max Fletcher whose apprentice Darrnick ran off a few weeks before telling wild tales of treasure and glory instead of getting down to his work of straightening arrow shafts and sorting pin feathers In the ensuing fortnight since this last adventure little has changed Aggrowan has been busy depleting the ale supply in the Crossroads Inn Oldin has been healing the sick in the High Druid s hospice and Secretbook has been helping the High Druid restore several rare tomes recovered from disused corners of the estate Chapter Aggrowan Granny Weather the Barbarian Secretbook the Wizard Lonack Silvermane Legodia Luel fer the Elven warrior and Eowelien Priestess of the Moon set out on the trail of the lost apprentice Darrnick After dealing with a messy hog attack in the middle of Crossroads Village they managed to find the cave where Darrnick and his friend Maybrick breathed their last killing one troll and evading another all while making off with the essential items to prove these deaths to Max Fletcher and the Captain of the Baron s guard Later they recovered holy scriptures for Saman the annoying priest of Om and received his blessings Sadly while in the entrance to the troll cave a group of boys playing at being great adventurers fell afoul of a giant rat attack one of the boys died and the others ran off convinced that the adventurers were responsible Chapter The same group joined by Corgan Wolfbite the barbarian druid were confronted with a major problem Thom father of the dead boy had sent off to the Monastery of St Gotha for a bounty hunter Falsely accused Aggrowan and Secretbook and their friends first sought advice from the High Druid then tried to regroup near the old Upriver Cave but wave after wave of skeletons appeared from nowhere and eventually some escaped and overran the village killing or gravely wounding many people The villagers mistakenly held the adventurers responsible for bringing this evil into their midst Then forsaking the village they set out on the trail hinted at by one of the old manuscripts that Secretbook had discovered in the Druid s library Travelling into the Dark Valley they managed to slip past a few gnoll guards only to come face to face with a horde of ravening zombies and skeletons All but Aggrowan and Secretbook fell in the ensuing battle Though all the skeletons were destroyed Lonack Legodia and Eowelien had to be dragged back more dead than alive to the cottage of Folhain the forester where his wife Madchen the wise woman nursed them back to health Only later did the hapless adventurers recall that they had left the bloody body of Corgan lying amidst the bones of the fallen skeletons In the following week Lonack Legodia and Eowelien were beset by horrible nightmares leaving them spent and disoriented every morning How can they now overcome these hauntings How can they find peace How to begin The second chapter of this campaign
