Into the Realms Sunday 9: The Hidden Corruption [02:15 AM 03/03/03 GMT]
The ragtag group of somewhat mismatched adventurers managed to once again unite with a common goal and work out their differences with not only each other but with Lord Geigers Though not all spoke with Lord Geigers he expressed his desire that it be known that all are welcome at his table and by his hearth Those that did not speak to him were still willing to continue on in the much needed service of Brighton after much discussion as to whether or not they should Maybe it was part in fear of their missing comrade Elmwood the desire for more fame as it is certainly growing within the town or a desire to further line their pouches with gold but regardless of their reasons they set forth once again in search of the possible cause or causes to the sabotages at the Keep the missing guards and the missing Keep workers While discussing what to do and how to proceed they all managed to run into a dim witted orc hating dwarf warrior dead set on finding himself some employer to weigh down his pockets with gold As it turns out Lord Geigers encouraged for his own safety and the safety of Brighton that this dwarf Dunar join with the others as they sought his missing guards in the cemetery Soon after venturing into the eerily quiet place they discovered what little remained of their good friend Elmwood lying near several empty graves Some foul creature had eaten almost every part of him including his bones leaving nothing with which to raise him During their sad eulogy on losing such a precious and needed friend and ally the adventurers discovered what must surely had eaten him as the tainted remains of Brighton s long dead citizens attacked from the mists eddying through the cemetery Realizing that this must surely be part of the cause to the missing guards from the Keep they battled their way fiercely across the length of the cemetery in search of what may have caused these good folk to rise from their peaceful slumber They finally came to the end of the madness weakened and disheartened for the need to cruelly hack apart the good folk that these undead must have once been Standing in front of the crypt belonging to Alon the founder of Brighton Rutledge noticed that the door to the crypt appeared recently used as did Kestral and that there were fresh boot prints in the marshy soil around the door Needing to recover and seek aid at the Temple of Tyr the adventurers sadly left the cemetery to rest away in fitful nightmare ridden sleep the night Do they dare enter the crypt of the well respected Alon Could anyone even be within its hallowed walls anyone they would want to meet Could the undead be the cause of the sabotage on the Keep Surely they were the reason for the missing and dead guards Who could possibly direct these usually mindless undead into behaving in such a thoughtful way Could this also explain the missing Keep workers The adventurers must gather their strength of will but more importantly strength of heart if they are to continue on their search for all these problems plaguing Brighton
