Greetings everyone and well met.
This is an invitation to those who are roleplayers by heart and who might be interested in joining a vibrant community of good roleplayers in Aglarond. We are a warm and welcoming community to those who come here to roleplay. Those who come here to have the best uber items, powergame, hack'n'slash, will be adviced to go elsewhere. If you are the imaginative sort and love to roleplay and care for weaving wonderful stories and tales with others that are equaly passionate about roleplaying, you'd surely want to join our community.
Aglarond is set in the lands carrying the same name in the Forgotten Realms setting. In game year is DR 1382, 10 years after the current FR timeline. Our server saw it's first light in the late days of March 2004. In other words we are a very new server and recently went out of Beta.
Our server is flavoured with amazing landscapes, colourful characters and excellent roleplayers. We hope to see our friendly community grow with creative and talented people. We highly encourange you to develop your unique character and we lay more weight on character development and growth than on combat, equipment and experience. We want our players to weave their characters story over time.
Our experience system works so that levels are purposedly difficult to attain. We feel that character development
should be and is just as rewarding as leveling. We have a level cap at 14 which means you cannot gain any experience
mechanically from "hunting" (as they so nicely call it...) after reaching this level. Exploring, adventuring with
friends, or even a candle-lit dinner with the cute elf girl next door can give you just as much as running out and thrusting your sword through a few goblins.
Currently we have a staff of 13 Dungeon Masters and Mistresses ready to watch and reward good roleplay as well as help weave your character into the stories and plots. We have also got excellent scripters and builders on our team whom constantly work on developing the world and shaping it to our vision.
To play on Aglarond you will have to know our rules and submit a character application through our forums. Your application is reviewed by our council and we base on that if you should be let into the world of Aglarond.
